A Fragrance Journey Through Art: Vilhelm Parfumerie Presents "Faces of Francis"

Vilhelm Parfumerie launches "Faces of Francis" - a sweetly gourmand unisex fragrance inspired by the mysterious triptychs of Francis Bacon.

Imagine you are standing next to the artist in the studio. What inspires him to create? He remembers this volcanic island, somewhere in the Mediterranean. He remembers the colors and smells of Tangier, where pistachios mix with saffron. He remembers all his past or imaginary travels that still awaken his senses. The inspiration is a fantastic journey between memories and desires in the present.

The composition opens with aldehydes and spicy saffron. In the heart unfolds a warm mix of grilled pistachios, juniper wood and driftwood. The base notes of oud, amber, cypriol, vetiver and smoked styrax give the fragrance a deep, woody facet.

Created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, the fragrance pays homage to the mysterious triptychs of British painter Francis Bacon, considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century.

Faces of Francis is a sulfurous journey between dream and reality, proximity and distance, mystery and passion.

In 2015, Swedish-born Jan Ahlgren founded the niche fragrance brand Vilhelm Parfumerie. Inspired by his experiences in the fashion industry in Paris and his travels throughout Europe, Ahlgren decided to pursue his passion for fragrance aesthetics in New York. Initially, he focused on perfuming high-end leather goods before turning his attention to creating pure fragrances and creating the Vilhelm Parfumerie label. Many of his fragrance creations reflect his personal experiences through Europe, telling olfactory stories of the various cultural influences he experienced during his travels.
