A Modern Interpretation of Incense: “Luban Al Akhdar” by Amouage

With "Luban Al Akhdar", Amouage opens a new chapter in the collection The Attars - a unisex fragrance that balances incense between smoky earthiness and ethereal freshness.

'Luban Al Akhdar' is a testament to the creative possibilities offered by an Attar composition and represents a truly unique interpretation of frankincense. Treating frankincense like a blooming flower, the perfume uses citrus and aldehydes for an ethereal transparency, while myrrh and labdanum reflect the main ingredient's unwavering connection to the earth. Abstract, indescribable and always surprising, 'Luban Al Akhdar' is a true incense of the imagination.

At the beginning, pure frankincense unfolds with its characteristic smoky, slightly lemony freshness. Myrrh is added in the heart note, lending the composition earthy warmth and spicy depth. A labdanum base rounds off the fragrance and provides a woody, balsamic finish.

The composition was created by perfumer Quentin Bisch in collaboration with Givaudan.

Inspiration: Incense as a blooming flower

"Luban Al Akhdar" is part of the The Attars collection, with which Amouage honors and revives one of the oldest forms of perfumery. Attars are based on pure oils without alcohol - a craft that has been considered the epitome of the highest art of fragrance and olfactory sophistication for centuries.

"Luban Al Akhdar" also takes up this principle and interprets the classic incense in a modern, artistic way. The composition is based on a 100 percent oil concentration and undergoes an eight-week maturing process: four weeks of maturing and a further four weeks of maturation are intended to give the fragrance its special depth and quality.

The name Luban Al Akhdar comes from Arabic: "Luban" (لبان) means "incense", "Al Akhdar" (الأخضر) stands for "the green one" or "green". Literally translated, the name means "the green incense" - an allusion to the fresh, bright facet that distinguishes the perfume from classic incense compositions.

The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 12 ml.

Extremly worried about the identity of the brand after seeing all new stuff being created by Quentin Bisch.

I look at the Bisch Amouages like the Porsche Macan and Cayenne SUVs. They are abominations, but they also keep the brand profitable so they can make 911s and Lustres.
