The Bittersweet Heart of Earth
I had been eyeing this brand for a while and decided to blind buy Terra after the perfumer released “The 4 Elements” collection. It stood out to me because a resinous, dark cocoa scent was evocatively what I was looking for, and it delivers wonderfully.

The cocoa is pretty much exclusively sweet in the opening, smelling lactonic and powdery. Combined with a subtle touch of earthy, roasted coffee beans, it evokes opening a fresh cocoa pod amidst a dense forest.
In the drydown, the “potato” note emerges, displaying a pyrazinic, earthy, roasted quality. The resinous patchouli base adds to the earthiness of the composition. There’s a light tar smell, which can be perceived as campfire smoke. Oud is not very strong in here, but it does help with the overall complexity of the scent.

Terra isn’t very shy but also doesn’t project too much. Where the performance truly shines in this perfume is in longevity. It easily lasts nine hours, still not completely disappearing afterward. This guarantees you’ll get pleasant whiffs of it throughout much of the day.

For indie standards, this perfume’s price tag is very reasonable. With the composition being so high quality, the craftsmanship is truly impressive. It’s a joy to wear and proudly takes its deserved place in my collection. Many thanks to the perfumer; definitely check out the brand for yourself.

Petals at Dusk
Indigo Night is the first of the wonderful Prin perfumes I’ve tried that truly blew me away. It manages to be a sweet, warm, and comforting scent while still having a nice rough edge to it. The first time I smelled it, I was hooked immediately.

The entire composition gets carried by a warm, herbaceous, tea-like scent provided by chamomile. The second most notable aspect is the powdery and creamy iris, getting more depth from violet or lavender. What makes it the most interesting is the slight animality you get from it. Especially in the dry down, you get the roughness from a small dose of hyraceum, with accents of leather and tobacco. This is also when the resinous ingredients of patchouli and labdanum come into play. It’s all very addictive, making me want to keep coming back for more.

The performance is great, easily lasting for 9 hours, sometimes even more. It’s most noticeable in the first 3 hours but still shows itself afterward. It sticks to clothing and stays strong for a long time as well.

All in all, Indigo Night is a great and interesting perfume that combines wearability with a bold edge. If you’re looking to discover the house of Prin, this is an amazing place to start.

Neither Groovy nor Xcaping from it
I’d immediately like to say that this perfume is massively underappreciated. I can understand that the scent is marketed terribly, but why does it automatically get lower scores because of it?

Just an extremely quick summary of the scent: it starts out loud and ends up soft. If you dislike cardamom or just spice in general, you might get scared away by the opening. But don’t lose hope: rose is here! In the early drydown, rose makes it smooth, elegant, and very wearable to me. Eventually, a safe version of incense comes around and combines with the rose to make a beautiful and enjoyable composition. All the spices are mostly pretty much gone at this point. I find it to be a very comfortable and feel-good wear. So overall, you wouldn’t really expect this from a perfume named “Groove Xcape”.

I get great performance, easily lasting for around 8 hours or more. Scent trails are still detectable in the air after that time, even without overspraying it.

In conclusion, it may be called “Groove Xcape”, but honestly, I don’t want to escape from it. For your own sake, sit through it, don’t dismiss it too soon.

Into the Forest
First off, I'd like to say that the scent of Próba Traw (Trial of the grasses) is very accurate to the marketing. It indeed smells very green, earthy, and dark. The bottle design depicts it very well.

It immediately starts out very dark and leathery, bluegrass and cypriol building upon these aspects. For most of the wear time, it lingers around as a smoky and earthy scent, like dry forest soil. After a few hours, there's a very subtle, urinous edge to it. It's actually not that unpleasant, as it adds a warm undertone to the composition. Overall, the scent is incredibly masculine. I like to imagine an old hunter with a cabin in the woods wearing this. '

The performance is just great, easily lasting 8+ hours and still being noticeable. It has grown on me a lot; at first I thought it would only be wearable by older people, but I've since changed my mind. Generally, an immensely impressive project from an indie perfumer such as Alan Balewski.

The Nail
I tried Reliqvia a few months ago, but I think I got scared away by the bottle designs. Luckily, I’ve been able to get my hands on some samples to test some of these Filippo creations out.

For the opening, it mainly feels dusty, nutty, smoky, and spicy. Filippo is making it simple for me to figure out from which note the smokiness is coming from: “smoke.” Of course this is accompanied by his usual church-like incense. The nutty and spicy aspects definitely come from the clove and nutmeg, giving the composition a unique twist. It’s hard to detect, but I can kind of smell a bit of orange.

In my opinion, the fragrance shines the brightest in the dydown. It gets smoother and woodier, giving an incredible trail in the air. I have experienced it lasting longer than 8 hours, so you’ll be able to enjoy the drydown for a long time. Testing it with only 1 spray, the projection is still good.

It’s a joy to test Sorcinelli fragrances, so don’t mind the bottles like I did. Especially when he has such unique scents like this.
