Totally under the radar and in the shadow of its competitors...
How did I come to Météore? Probably like many others through the little samples from Louis Vuitton that you receive. I previously owned a leftover bottle of Imagination and found that scent quite nice, but somehow it didn't spark a 100% connection between us.
I believe anyone who tests perfume knows this feeling. You want to love a hyped fragrance, but if it’s not there, it’s just not there.
Well, I then got a sample of L'Immensité and Météore. L'Immensité is also a very nice perfume, but I had tested it two years ago and, just like back then, it didn't appeal to me this time either. Then I sprayed Météore on the back of my left hand and wasn't initially impressed. It was probably because I expected something different due to the notes.
However, throughout the day, wafts of this scent kept coming to my nose, and I had to admit to myself that what I was smelling was truly incredibly wonderful.
Such a lovely, high-quality freshness that is not boring at all. Really remarkable!
That same evening and in the days that followed, I wore the sample until it was empty. Every time I wore the scent, I fell more in love with it. That’s also the reason why Imagination left my collection after two weeks and this fragrance took its place :D

I’ll try to describe my associations and thoughts about the scent.

At the very beginning, right after spraying, you really get a lot of pepper. However, in my opinion, something cool and very refreshing joins in. In my estimation, this comes from a mix of neroli and cardamom, which leaves an almost minty impression, even though mint is not listed. Definitely a super refreshing opening, and contrary to the fragrance pyramid, I smell less of the citrus fruits at the start.

After a few minutes, a very subtle sweetness joins in that makes the scent so beautiful. The fruits become more pronounced later on, but that very nice cooling note always remains. After a while, the pepper fades but never completely disappears, and as strange as it sounds, I perceive a very delicate creaminess that beautifully balances the sharpness and zestiness of the citrus fruits and spices. It reminds me in some ways, probably due to the neroli and pepper, very slightly of a much fresher "Reflection Man | Amouage." However, this impression is only incidental.
Also, shortly after the opening, a nicely integrated aquatic note joins the fragrance, which remains until the end.
After about 2-3 hours, the scent becomes a bit more bitter and spicier. The sweetness recedes a bit, and more citrus and aquatic notes come to the fore. Even though it’s not listed, I can clearly perceive a certain woodiness and ambroxan. This ambered woodiness emerges after a few hours and enhances the scent beautifully. This woody impression is likely also created by the spicy nutmeg in conjunction with the vetiver.
After 4+ hours, the scent remains roughly the same until the end, pleasantly bitter, masculine, and aquatic but not boring at all. For me, the scent becomes only barely perceptible after about 10 hours. It is by no means a beast or a room-filler, but that’s a good thing. Météore doesn’t try to be more than it is. It is a true nose-pleaser that everyone likes and is well-received everywhere, never too much or exhausting.
Regarding longevity and sillage, they are truly excellent with this scent and noticeably better for me than with other Louis Vuitton freshie competitors.

When the sample was empty, I immediately ordered a bottle, as I don't want to miss this scent anymore. Despite the already very high price of currently €290 for 100ml, I believe it’s worth indulging in this fragrance. I think you can really wear this scent at any time, for any occasion, and in any season. You practically always smell like you just stepped out of the shower without smelling like everyone else.
I can truly recommend this wonderful scent to anyone who, like me, has been searching for that one Holy Grail aquatic/shower gel scent for a long time, and believe me, I have tried quite a few of them ;)

Thank you for reading :)

Male Peach with Bitter Coconut Finish
The flankers of the Allure line from Chanel are well-known, but I only discovered them later for myself. It started a few years ago with a sample of the widely popular Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême. "Good scent," I thought, but somehow not quite my style.
Later, I also became aware of the other guys from the line.

"Allure Homme Édition Blanche (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel," which I tested for the second time in a perfumery, I still find to be the worst in the entire line. I also recently tested the Allure Homme Sport Eau de Toilette in the large "D". This scent is nicely fresh and aquatic. "I like this a lot," I thought, and then saw way back in the corner of the shelf the Allure Homme Eau de Toilette standing there, looking quite sad. "I've never tested that one..." was in my thoughts, and I immediately thought to give it a try, maybe it would be something.

After the first sniff, I was shockingly in love. "What a scent, oh my God," I thought.
This freshness, yet slightly sweet, bitter, fougère dream composition. It starts off fresh and a bit citrusy with a certain kick of peach. Then it transitions into something slightly oriental, of course nothing heavy or anything, dominated by a bit of lavender.
Even after hours, there’s a lovely woodiness with a bit of spice, without ever losing freshness. The coconut also comes to the fore a bit, which, together with the leather and tonka bean, creates a wonderfully sensual drydown.
The scent lasts a good 7 hours on me and projects very well for about 3 hours.

When I got home in the evening, I immediately ordered a 50ml bottle and couldn't be happier to own this scent to this day.
In my eyes, Jacques Polge has created a masterpiece with Allure Homme. Timeless, elegant, beautiful masculinity. The scent is suitable for any occasion, whether at a job interview, on a date, or just daily at work. The scent is not a beast in terms of longevity and not a projection monster, but for me, the scent is just right as it is.

In my opinion, the original is the best in the line and unfortunately also the most often overlooked. Even the Bleu de Chanel line can't compete with it for me.
I can only warmly recommend to anyone who hasn't tested this scent yet to give it a try. For me, the best scent from Chanel!

My First Niche Fragrance
The whole topic of perfume has always fascinated me. Back then, as a teenager, my first fragrance was Just Different by Hugo Boss, and later I explored several designer scents. Just recently, after years, the topic of perfume has reignited for me.

Before I truly dove into the world of perfumes, I knew nothing about any "niche fragrances" until I stumbled upon various "Top 10 Lists" on a well-known video platform.
The name Parfums de Marly, which was completely unknown to me until then, appeared relatively frequently in such videos and piqued my curiosity. I couldn't imagine at the time how these scents could smell based on their descriptions, but I knew what I liked. Bleu de Chanel EdP, my only "good" fragrance up to that point, was my benchmark. I have always preferred classic, fresh, masculine scents, so I looked more specifically into this house.
Quickly, the fresh fragrances from the PdM house became known to me, and I watched several reviews of the newcomers from the house. I had my eye on Percival right away, as I thought I would really like the scent based on the descriptions. Alongside aquatic, fresh, sporty, and versatile, I kept hearing that it wasn't unique enough and too mainstream for a niche fragrance. However, I wasn't deterred by that.

After I also discovered Souk for myself, I quickly decided to get a decant of Percival.
"My first niche fragrance, then," I thought to myself, and I was really excited about what awaited me.
Full of anticipation, I waited for the envelope with the decant to arrive a few days later. I still remember exactly how I tore open the envelope, immediately removed the cap from the sprayer, and sprayed it generously on my wrist twice because I was so excited.

This scent, yes, I loved it from the very first spray. All the negative comments I had read beforehand became irrelevant.

This elegant fresh mandarin in the top notes with slightly aromatic undertones. Then later, something lightly sweet, floral-cinnamony, while the aquatic notes emerge in the background. As I have heard from another fragrance enthusiast, I also get a "shower gel medley" association, like when you were a child in the swimming pool and walked into the men's shower. That steamy air smelling of all sorts of shower gels and deodorants immediately came to mind. Sometimes I also thought, "Hey, somehow something about this scent feels mega familiar..." until it clicked. Yes, it reminded me a bit of Big Red gum from the gas station. This slightly minty note, combined with the sweet cinnamon, had parallels for me with Percival. Yes, that's how I would describe the scent overall. Of course, in hindsight, I know that it is absolutely not the most unique fragrance, but I simply love this scent. I can genuinely recommend this fragrance to anyone who has no problem with a slight designer DNA, enjoys fresh aquatics, and has a bit more money to spare.
Percival really works anytime and anywhere. Whether in the office, in everyday life, or going out with a few more sprays, it's no problem. The scent definitely has a slightly playful and youthful quality, but at the same time, it is also very masculine and sophisticated in a way.

In my opinion, the longevity/sillage is truly the best I have ever experienced with a fresh fragrance. When I spray three times on my neck at 6 AM, I can still smell Percival in the evening after over 10 hours with a relatively weak but noticeable sillage, almost like a kind of aura.

I hope this first review of a fragrance is somehow helpful for anyone reading it :)
