Neuroshima Hex - Neojungle
I love it. There are those green smells that are friendly.... Grasses, bamboo, herbs...this one is not. It smells like thorns and undergrowth. A post-apocalyptic overgrown city of mutated plants, dense opaque overgrowth with hypnotic resins dripping from trunks. Spores that occupy the synapses and trigger hallucinations. Ethereal neojungle.

Where Femme Fatale normally dominates the room with warm powdery fragrances and hypnotic opium, this fragrance entwines itself with thorny vines in every corner and opens the Venus flytrap right in front of its victims' faces. They devour beauty. Before you know it, the room is overgrown. Anything that is not green here is a warning. Beautiful, but highly poisonous.
Poison Ivy looks like a tame kitten next to it.

Pretty edgy. Definitely niche. You have to be able to wear this fragrance for it to eat you up. It doesn't harmonize with many body chemistries and turns sour. So it doesn't smell good on most people. But on those on whom it works, it is unique, beautiful and brutal at the same time.
If you've ever been called a "strange plant", you should try it :) it could be just the thing.

Venus in Fur Pleasurepain
Another self-experiment from the "I have to go through this now" series. Although I was least worried about applying this one.

I could imagine that Venus in fur by Sacher Masoch would have smelled like this. An icon like that doesn't need a cloud of mist around it. The scent is memorable. Something like dark red lipstick, dried saliva and some dark flower. I don't know whether I find it worrying or attractive. Then there's boudoir powder with a furry animal dominance. A calm woman's voice from a dark dungeon niche that says "come here..." while you have lost your way in the vault and now come to an abrupt halt. Unsure whether to give in to curiosity or keep going. It could hurt, it could also be so pleasant. The emphasis is on "could". You'd have to get involved and be far too close to find out. The last thing you heard was a breathy "Good thing...". It was soft, warm, cuddly and at the same time this hand that grips your hair faster than you could back away and pulls your head back until you are unable to move and voluntarily comply with every whispered request. An eternity follows. The smell remains forever tied to this woman, because you had to get way too close and give it your all to find out.

I know her and I know exactly who to give this perfume to. I can already hear her smirking. At the very end, I am left with pure musk. Still quiet but infinitely dominant. If you don't want too strong a scent because you "work with people" ;). If you want to make a subtly threatening statement from the extreme, definitely a good choice.

Pinot Noir in the décolleté
At first, Acrasia does indeed seem fluid to me. But not as you would expect with light waves or breezes. Rather, it sloshes impetuously into your face, as if you had set the glass and accidentally poured the wine over your nose, mouth and décolleté. As I have done this often in all my enthusiasm, it feels familiar. It is probably the most beautiful addition to a perfume that smells of whisky in the evening. A glass of dry red wine sits on a fluffy coat of patchouli, musk and ambergris in front of a fireplace with light scented woods. The liquid is so dark that it only shimmers red in the glow of the fire. Light citrus and vanilla notes on the tongue, which contracts. Dust-dry and slightly woody. The neckline into which the wine has been tipped smells of jasmine and becomes an echo - patchouli and musk, musky patchouli, jasmine. You want to purr and pull her closer to you.

Is there actually a term for perfumes that smell of spirits?

Only Lovers Left Alive
"The longing moves the nostalgia in my heart
the night gets longer and the day passes backwards...."

The song Hal by Yasmine Hamdam had always made me wonder what vampires smell like in Tangier. Tauer gave me an answer. Like dry heat, resinous abra, bittersweet tea, enchanting caraway and dark tobacco. I don't know whether I would prefer to smell all this on a woman or a man. Confusingly dark and beguiling

At first she was just... gone
Nothing happened... After I had smelled 13 other scents of ELDO this was virtually slipped directly from the paper strip. For several hours I wondered if I might have simply become smell-blind whereby all other fragrances, even the subtle, were still well perceivable. At some point I decided to spray again and lo and behold - there it was. She is actually different. Sugar-sweet and very elusive at first, with a giddy material synthetic undertone that can certainly give sensitive people a headache. It gives it a strange edge. It's probably the combo of incense and ambrofix. I kind of like it and somehow it repels me. On top, though, the gourmand sweetness breathed on me first, always reminding me of the taste of Frangelico. A bit nutty, a bit woody with lots of powdered sugar. The combination is absurd. In fact, an anomaly. Not unique, just rare. It would, were it not so fleeting, unbearable. Generously sprayed on, it behaves kindly very restrained. Presumably, you smell it only when you get close or when you have virtually set it by regular use. After about 6h I was left with only light, white flowers with some powdered sugar. Not my world but certainly for some a good, subtle perfume with a little twist.
