Holiday in Tuscany in a bottle
It’s one of the best scents I’ve smelled in the last years! It’s a photorealistic jasmine bush in the evening, when the sun has released all those gorgeous oils from the flower during the day and it’s still vibrating from the heat. It smells like a holiday in Tuscany. While It’s such a vibrant and warm and tantalizing scent, I won’t buy because doesn’t last me longer than an hour. It sticks to clothes a good while longer but for this price the lack of longevity just turns me off it. A real shame.
I love it, sue me
I got this perfume more than a year ago as a sampler and it transported me back to Mexico. I am not sure why, but it evokes warm memories of hot sunny days in Mexico, a slight sunburn and one too many tequilas. It opens as an expensive sunscreen which quickly gives way to a sweet floral scent, albeit a bit synthetic. I don’t mind. It’s not close to the skin but it also doesn’t have a powerful sillage. It hovers slightly over the skin and you get better sillage when it’s warm and dry out. It dries down as a slightly acidic but warm scent on my skin: like a not fully ripened mango. I paired it with Cheirosa ‘62 and it transforms the scent to the more gourmand leaning side in the dry down which I appreciate a lot.
While this perfume doesn’t seem to be a crowd pleaser, I love it and will happily wear it in hot summer months.
Wanted to love it, but I didn’t
I was interested in a summery-caribbean perfume to take with me on holidays and this one seemed to fit the bill. I loved the opening. Like a fragrant piña colada, warm skin and sunscreen smell. However 3 hours later and on my skin the dry down turned into a strange powdery burnt and spoilt milk scent. I don’t think my skin and this perfume is a match.
Obsessed
I am obsessed with this scent. Surprisingly so, as I normally tend to go for fresh and floral scents. But this one knocked it out of the park for me. It’s a perfume that makes me sniff my wrists all day long. It’s a very warm, inviting scent. Think a hot summer evening, the sun is setting and you’re having a vanilla crepe in a rose garden. Pricey, but the scent is eternal.
Vanilla extract
First whiff was mediocre. Strong LVEB scent surrounded by a cloud of vanilla. It became interesting around 10min after. It’s been 4 hours and the dry down is a stuffy vanilla scent, nothing else remains. Not in a cookie or fresh vanilla pod kinda way but like some people said, a bit like a vanilla scented candle or one of those scented car things. Binning the sample I got.
