Nostalgic memories
Many thanks to Nick for the original manufacturer's sample of Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver :-) When I applied this cologne, I immediately thought of Echt Kölnisch Wasser Eau de Cologne. And that immediately brought back memories of my grandmother (rest in peace dear granny). In the end, I find the Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver even more beautiful than the Echt Kölnisch Wasser Eau de Cologne :-) To my great surprise, the longevity on my skin is surprisingly long for an eau de cologne at around 9 to 10 hours. The sillage is fine so far.
The top note starts with a lot of neroli and smells fresh, floral, citrusy but also green with a hint of basil. The heart note continues to smell of neroli as well as creamy and a little fig. The base smells woody, balsamic and slightly earthy like vetiver. Calabrian neroli can also be detected here. The creaminess resonates again here and creates the feeling of having applied sun cream.
In the end, I am very taken with this fragrance. However, I am concerned that the fragrance from the bottle may not last as long as the one from my manufacturer's sample, which has probably been around for a few years.
