Every now and then I go on a hunt for Vetiver scents because I love the note in its many different types and forms. In this masterpiece that was crafted by Perfumer
Juliette Karagueuzoglou. The more I wear this fragrance the more I realise that I am enjoying it. Paradise Vetiver opens up with juicy citruses accompanied by pink pepper which gives this fragrance a classic ,fresh and spicy touch that I am fond of. The cardamom here is slightly sweet and gently making its spicy presence felt but I also feel it's zesty as it merges with the top notes creating a clean character with a flowery feel as neroli giving us a sparkling crisp feel. I am trying hard to pick up the nutmeg but I am not sure I am getting it as I expected but maybe my nose is blind to it on this particular fragrance. The Vetiver in here is just too beautiful for me to put into words it's given the fragrance an elegantly woody feel it's like an anchor to a ship which keeps it grounded as it reaches the shore. It gives me sense of calm,
Lastly the Vetiver is accompanied with a beautiful companion guaiac wood which is also not over powering but which I feel gives this fragrance a good endurance in terms of it's longevity.

The overall scent is nothing ground breaking as such and that's not to take anything away from it. But the way it's blended its captivating. I find Paradise Vertiver to be more exciting than Issey Vetiver which I have recently tried and wasn't happy with the performance or the presence of Vetiver in it. This can be worn by both male and female but I must say its bit more masculine leaning on my nose, it can be worn at anytime of the day but I found it to be best performing on sunny days, afternoon, gloomy weather and rainy day.

The projection is not so loud but it's descent and sometimes that's enough and maybe that's the reason why I ended up with this scent it's because I wanted to wear something that's not overpowering on my nose but that's also good and that can last through my working hours that you could pick up should you be in a close distance.4 to 6 sprays take me through the day,I like the whiffs I get after a long day at work as it remains close to my skin. This stays on my shelf, in this fragrance my Vetiver expectations were meet even though I didn't expect much , I am sure I will be getting another should I get way too much on the sprays.

It's 2006 A year later, after the release of this fragrance, my cousin's brother bought it, and it was the freshest thing I have ever smelled. It turns out my music studio manager, who lived in a Tuscany-inspired design house, has it now You can imagine being at home in the morning when we are all dressed up and leaving for work This was one of the fragrances I would smell first thing in the morning, and when I got to work, the record label manager was wearing the same fragrance, and he would overspray the juice because you could pick it up as you entered the gate at the production house, so I was practically surrounded by this classic scent. I loved it and wish I had it, but as for the gentleman's code growing up, if one of us bought a scent and you liked it, you could not get it if it is still in rotation because it was disrespectful to smell the same. As a result, I had to wait for both of them to complete it.

Fast forward to 2022 I saw the scent at a discounter shop and ordered one for myself online and later on in the summer at a family gathering, I decided to rock it. As soon as my cousin met me after shaking hands, he laughed and said, "Eau Fraiche by Versace" and that time I thought he still remembered the scent and we both laughed because he knew then that he inspired me to do it. That's a total of 16 years apart, and I am thinking he could still pick it up from the air as I am wearing the scent, which means the quality of the fragrance has been maintained from the production point of view. I love how it projects with its fresh, zesty citrus opening; that's the one for me; it captivates my senses in a way I can't put into words. followed by some nicely balanced greens with some woods. The longevity is still decent on my clothes and skin and yes the nowadays batch doesn't last as long as it did when it was first released never the less to this day I still find it fresh and an elegant man's fragrance. It can be worn by both young and old males as a confident booster that gathers compliments from those captivated by its allure.

Its in the middle of the winter season in the afternoon, and as I walked in the studio and the radio presenter said, Please walk out and walk in again, I did, and she said damn! Whatever you are wearing is amazing. I told her it was Myrrh & Tonka by Joe Malone. The combination of the notes with frankincense is out of this world, the scent has a beautiful trail, and the longevity is above average. Its creamy and rich, with sweet notes from the vanilla, and slightly oriental. The top touches of lavender make it warm and tender. The amber feel at the base is not overpowering but very subtle, making this a pleasant fragrance to wear at work and on special occasions, I love how tonka and vanilla elegantly ground things with this peace of work. It's one of those fragrances that gives more meaning to life for me. I also remember the thoughts that would runin my head thinking of how this ingredient smelled as a child durring Sunday school whenever it was mentioned in scripture. Little did I know it would be one of my favorite notes. I am slowly learning that I am more drawn to classic-smelling fragrances every now and then and this is one of those that will always make a return on my perfume shelves.

A true classic of its time, when Jean-Claude Ellena created this fragrance, he must have traveled from the past into the future because this fragrance has stood the test of time. Not only is it beautiful, but so is the feeling that comes from wearing this timeless gem. I feel important, I feel grounded, and I know I am making a statement wherever I am. It's not overpowering, but it certainly cannot be ignored. Once you step into the room, you will be noticed. My daughter is now 21 years old, and since I fell in love with this fragrance 17 years ago, to this day, it has a place in my heart. I started wearing this fragrance a long time ago, and there's never been a time when I felt like I had had enough of it, I have lost count of how many bottles I have had. I am a fan of vetiver, patchouli, and pink pepper, which are all of my favorite notes that make up this extremely well-put piece of work. Seasonality is not an issue with this fragrance. I have worn it through all the seasons, and there is hardly a time when I feel like getting tired of it. Some fragrances change over time, but this has surely stood the test of time. It's a dignified gentlemans gem.














 

This is one of them for me. I do not care about compliments when I am wearing this fragrance; I just love it. I do not need anyone to tell me if they are okay with it or not, because it would not matter anyway. Irish leather reminds me of the smell of a wet forest in the winter, when I was a kid and we used to play in the woods. Juniper berries are an excellent opening note, though I wish it could last longer. Mate Absolute's green touch immediately wins me over. The pink pepper gives me a fresh feeling, which is not so common in leather perfumes. Tonka beans amplify the leather in this one, thus making it a good-quality fragrance for my nose. I love the fact that I can wear this in winter or in summer, which took me by surprise because when I first got the travel size decant, it was in summer, but oh boy, it performed very well in the heat, lasting me through out the day with a very good projection. I wear this at work on colder days or when I am out with my wife for special events. I hope to travel the world someday to smell the Irish type of leather. I am confident that it was well captured in this masterpiece, which has a special place in my heart because I love unique fragrances, which this does with ease.
