“Anniversary Collection - 150” - Limited Series by Clive Christian Launched With Two New Fragrances

British niche label Clive Christian launches the limited edition "Anniversary Collection - 150" to celebrate the 150-year history of Crown Perfumery, from which the label emerged in 1999.

"Anniversary Collection - 150: Contemporary" is a fougère fragrance with an interplay of cool geranium and violet, juicy blackberry alongside warm nutmeg, black pepper, aromatic cedar and a strong single malt. Earthy moss gives a pleasant finish.

"Anniversary Collection - 150: Timeless" is a modern interpretation of a classic Victorian perfume, a refreshing scent with hints of ginger, tangy lime and classic English lavender. A warm base of musk, amber and leather makes this perfume feel close to the skin.

The Crown Perfumery Company was founded in London in 1872 and probably its most famous customer, Queen Victoria, allowed the use of the image of her crown on the perfume bottles.

The history of the house originally began in New York, where William Sparks Thomson made perfume and soap. He first opened a corset store in London in 1840. It sometimes happened that female customers fainted because the corsets were so tight.

Thomson's son William, a chemist, came up with the idea of making lavender-based smelling salts to revive the fainting ladies.

The production of smelling salts was followed by the creation of the first extra concentrated perfume called Crab Apple Blossom - the first ever scented water made from the fragrant blossoms of the crab apple tree.

Both perfumes are available in a bottle size of 50ml.
