Clive Christian meets Sergio Momo (XJ) in Turin... / And the BUT....
Hello everyone,
today I would like to share my (wild) thoughts on the Anniversary Collection - 150: Timeless .
About the first OVP, bottle, cap, sprayer:
Everything gets a very good 9 out of 10, but you have to single out one thing and that's the sprays, which have always been terrific and a 10 out of 10, and to put it bluntly, they are so good that I would put them on a par with those from Chanel and Dior (the best on the market)!
For a wild comparison:
I'm happy to admit it, my wife is a HUGE FAN of "Join The Club - Torino21 | XerJoff" and I've come to appreciate the constant expressions of love from her. At first I liked it less because it was too simple, too boring and mega mega pleasing, no rough edges ... but at some point this changed and my wife played a discreet part in this. A few months ago I came to Clive Christian and I'll be honest, even today the prices put me off and I wouldn't pay the full price and I don't mean that the fragrances aren't worth it, but I have a price of xxx€ in my head which is my "maximum amount", but the fragrances from Clive Christian are usually above that...
So much for the quasi preface and a few weeks ago I came across a bottle by chance in the souk and got it in exchange. It arrived a few days later and I immediately gave it a sniff (a blind buy as always, of course - crazy I know). But what was revealed was very familiar to me, the fragrance starts very similar to "Join The Club - Torino21 | XerJoff" with mint, lemon and a little ginger (it also subtly resembles Uden Overdose in the top note! ) and as soon as the top note disappears it becomes more and more like 1872 for Men with subtle hints of "Shooting Stars - Nio | XerJoff" in the drydown
At the end of the day, a very "wild combo"°, but I really like all of them!
I consider the H/S to be good, although as a fresh fragrance it almost tends towards good+!
In the months of April to the end of September, you can wear it almost every day and really for any occasion, provided you have the right purse. Because that brings me to the last topic, the "BUT"....
And now to the BUT...
The BUT is the price point. Everyone has to decide for themselves and personally whether it's worth it. When I see the RRP directly at CC, I feel a bit sick. But nobody is forcing us to have a premium product, so the price point is relative, but I evaluate price - performance and in this respect I say it is much (!) too expensive.
I got my bottle which is/was almost for 200€ and in my opinion that's fine! (With exchange insert even less)
But we are still a long way from "cheap"....
If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you! (In any case, my sample convinced me that I wouldn't be surprised if it moved in with me one day. )
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you are reading this review, LG the Benny
