For some time now, I've been looking for a fragrance that honors the beautiful, delicate magnolia, that gives it the space its shy scent needs, that carries it. If a fragrance name promises exactly that, then "Magnolia Nobile (Eau de Parfum) | Acqua di Parma" . Some reviews of the fragrance also read beautifully. And so I set out to test "Magnolia Nobile (Eau de Parfum) | Acqua di Parma".
Until now, I couldn't make friends with Acqua di Parma fragrances, the DNA was too strong and repetitive for me. But I wanted to encounter Magnolia Nobile.
So I sprayed on the perfume and, as expected, was overwhelmed by bergamot and citrus accords. Inhale, exhale, wait and see. The floral bouquet was already dancing in the background, which I searched for the magnolia. In the drydown, I saw the efforts of tuberose, jasmine and rose to push the magnolia forward, the efforts of sandalwood and vetiver to give it support, but finally, after an hour, everything collapsed. The fine flowers were buried under patchouli, the vanilla had already run away before its appearance and the bergamot grinned cheekily at me.
Almost painful for a magnolia lover like me.
I think with fewer antagonists, the fragrance could have been really great, but unfortunately it couldn't live up to its name.

I stumbled across Peau de Lumière Magique while looking for a slightly more grown-up perfume, ordered it just because of the interesting fragrance description and sprayed it on with a good dose of curiosity.
My first impression: It smells interesting! But what? Complete nose confusion!
I only knew this from Juliette has a gun & Zarkoperfume, whose synthetics I can't cope with despite my selective enthusiasm.
So, to be on the safe side, I combed through all possible reviews and tried to smell everything that was described there.
With a lot of imagination, I was able to find a bit of pepper, ginger and patchouli, but the synthetics were simply overpowering. There was no trace of softness, florality or even powderiness.
Despite this, or perhaps because of it, I decided to keep this perfume & was looking forward to the reactions to a fragrance that was completely unusual on me.
Sprayed 2-3 times the next morning, I went to work with my new "serious feeling" and was thrown out of the office by a sensitive nose, asked a short time later whether I had now also jumped on this Molecule trend, etc. etc.
On the other hand, my loved one was later completely thrilled by my aura :)
My conclusion after 4 years of rather sporadic use: A very special perfume, not everybody's darling, polarizing if you apply it more generously, good business perfume when used sparingly, incredibly long lasting.
We are not best friends, but reliable business partners ;)

Do you know this longing for a fragrance that you already have in your nose, but which does not yet exist? The one you are looking for, in perfume descriptions, in the perfumery? Explain to the saleswoman in detail how the fragrance you are looking for must smell, look at bottles that might look like they contain the fragrance of your dreams, but you do not find it?

Since I had this experience once many years ago to have found exactly such a fragrance of my imagination, this longing flares up in irregular intervals in me. For a long time I was looking for a body-loving, light, creamy, elegant, perhaps orangy fragrance, which should not be citric, gladly with a touch of jasmine, perhaps also ylang-ylang, gladly a bit of milky coconut, without any dominance, but with a lot of charm.

When I then 2017 reading "worked" through the new summer fragrances, I could not believe what I was reading.
The new Tom Ford, which was then still completely outside my price range, I had to try. I did then - and BÄÄHM!!!! - the sky hung full of violins, the sun shone, turquoise water washed around my feet, a coconut palm bent in the gentle wind, I had a white dress on, flowers in my hair ...
and seconds later the fragrance already bought.

The following days I felt like a fragrance missionary. I was sooo often asked about it, as never before with a fragrance.
Only the relatively short shelf life with me is a tiny little point of criticism. Therefore, I have later also tried the perfume, which, however, could not evoke nearly the same effect.

Freshly in love, with mulled wine in one hand and the beloved on the other, I strolled, no floated along the Christmas glittered street. The air was filled with vanilla, cinnamon, grilled sausages, laughter and shopping frenzy. Jugglers and musicians finally transported me completely into another illustrious world. In a side street, an exclusive perfumery invited me to a tasting of, how could it be otherwise, the Storie Veneziane fragrances. The hand-blown Murano glass masks on the leather-covered bottle smiled seductively at me. Spraying on the fragrance, I heard a beckoning whisper of elegant vanilla, wood from an old merchant ship, and leather from a hidden little workshop of an old shoemaker in Venice, which became a dreamlike memory on the way home, along with all the images and sounds of the evening.
In the next few days, completely unexpectedly I heard the beckoning whisper again, as if from nowhere, and finally drew me again and again to that same small, exclusive perfumery. The beloved recognized my budding obsession and finally, one evening, a magically decorated package lay on my table. Full of foreboding and at the same time incredulous, I unwrapped the box with my heart beating faster. And there it was in front of me, this unique whispering bottle ... Expectantly I sprayed me the fragrance and found myself in a cloud of --RUM!!!!
Where was the magic, the vanilla, the enveloping-mysterious woody-leathery aura? But before I could think this thought to the end, the fragrance was already gone again.
And so remained for me even with repeated use this alluring whisper, against which I can not resist, not tangible, not definable, sometimes the rum speaks louder, sometimes the vanilla, sometimes the woody leathery purring for hours on my skin ...
