Fall from grace
Every time I smell this fragrance I like it less and less. Unfortunately I believe that Xerjoff has reformulated this fragrance into mediocrity. I remember smelling this for the first time during 2019 at a Neiman Marcus. I loved it, the citrus was light and airy with a strong and sweet lavender and vanilla popping out almost immediately. It projected off of the skin longer and developed beautifly into a true honey tobacco scent while still not being overwhelming. Fast forward to 2024 and it opens up with a cleaning product smell, very sharp citruses with a little bit of lavender. Then, all of the vanilla, honey, and tobacco come at once. And it feels weak. smells more like a vanilla candle with slight amounts of tobacco in the dry down. This fragrance is a masterpiece but Xerjoff destroyed their work trying to cut costs from how popular this was becoming. There's no more evolution in the fragrance, no more smoky, rich honey, and worse performance. I expect this fragrance to lose popularity in the near future as other popular fragrances like Alexandria II, which still is an amazing fragrance take the number one spot for unisex perfumery. If you're looking for a honey and tobacco fragrance from Xerjoff get Comandante or Ceylon/ Mamluk if you're adventurous. Other Xerjoff fragrances that I think need more recognition are Alexandria III, More than words, Empiryan, Ivory Route, Via cavour 1, and Golden Dallah. Thank you.
Barbecue at a Buddhist temple
Was visiting an individual Le Labo store recently and decided to spray this. It smells good, but it reminded me of something. Then it hit me… barbecue sauce and brisket. It has the wood and patchouli/incense, but it has some kind of slightly sweet, savory smell that reminds me of a choking feeling being near the smoker at a BBQ. If you live in Texas like me this is a big NO unless you love barbecue that much. But if you live outside the U.S.A or don’t have barbecues often this is a nice, artistic fragrance.
Versatile Iris fragrance
Starting off, many people think that this fragrance is reserved for dressing up or special occasions where you would wear a suit or to a work conference. But I personally think that this fragrance is more versatile than that. I live in a tropical city, and I find myself wearing this fragrance all times of the year except for summer. Surprisingly, this fragrance is light and airy enough to support its seasonal versatility. While you can wear this to work I also think this is a great fragrance to wear on casual occasions, dates, and even to sleep (only one or two sprays sleeping). It's such a soothing smell that is sweet, airy, and floral with the Iris. Performance is what you would expect from a extreme Eau de Parfum. Only slightly less versatile than the Eau de Toilette. 9/10
Spiced apple pie and pipe tobaco
Parfums de Marly Carlisle is a fragrance that I hold dear to my heart. It was my first ever niche fragrance and Its still top 3 in my collection. It's sweet/vanillic, smooth, slightly earthy and creamy, and projects like crazy. Lasts 10-12 hours on skin and can stick to clothes and project off of them slightly for a couple of days. I would personally only go with 3-5 sprays depending on the weather and occasion.
I don't understand the comparison to red tobacco either, this fragrance is smooth and sophisticated, red tobacco is smokey and screechy. This fragrance is miles above red tobacco, has some similar notes but just doesn't deserve the disservice of being compared to red tobacco.
The vanilla in this fragrance is strong throughout along with the patchouli and saffron. the nutmeg and rose die off quick but make a pleasant hour when they appear. In the dry down I get some apple, vanilla, tonka, osmanthus, slight amounts of resins, and patchouli.
In conclusion this is a mature fragrance that most people will enjoy wearing and smelling. You can get this off of Jomashop for 250 usd at discount like I did for a 125ml bottle. You can wear this to work, school, date nights, and special occasions. No matter where you use this fragrance it will not disappoint. My personal favorite from Parfums de Marly, 10/10.

Great Conqueror
Upon first smell, you are hit with a smoky, sweet, overpowering burst of resigns, ambers, and sweetness. Spraying out of the bottle, it envelops your nose immediately in the air with almost an indescribable smell.
This fragrance is extremely potent and sticks to clothes and skin like glue for 48-100+ hours depending on if you put it on the skin or clothing. It uses extremely high quality and abundant ingredients to paint a full picture of what it wants to express to you.
I can picture a great king riding into battle alongside his soldiers as the city around him falls and burns and all the aromas of ash, food, and earth mix with this other feeling. The feeling of comfort. Sitting back by an open fire, roasting chestnuts and marshmallows. With your grandfather smoking a sweet vanilla pipe. This mix of comfort and chaotic notes make a very sophisticated and magical scent. The best thing I have ever smelt 10/10
