Creamy Pineapple Gourmand-esque scent for a great price
Lattafa Honor and Glory is one of those not-so-hidden gems in the fragrance world, that punches well above its price point. It became one of my most worn fragrances in 2024.
Imagine slicing into a caramelized pineapple crème brûlée, its sweetness balanced by a creamy, very slightly smoky backdrop. This opening is what immediately sets Honor and Glory apart. The pineapple is juicy yet refined, transitioning into a gourmand-esque vibe that feels edible but never cloying - unless you overspray!
As the fragrance dries down, Honor and Glory begins to reveal its inspirations. It shares a clear resemblance to Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Beau Le Parfum and Nishane’s Fan Your Flames, particularly in the resinous undertones that emerge later. However, Honor and Glory takes its own path, offering a smoother and slightly more approachable version of these two.
For its price, the performance is respectable. You’re looking at a 6–8 hours of longevity with moderate projection that leans closer to the skin in the latter stages. It’s a versatile scent, just as suited for casual daytime wear as for evening outings. Wouldn't necessarily exclude formal scenarios, but perhaps go easier on the trigger then.
Lattafa Honor and Glory proves that you don’t need to spend a fortune to smell incr-edible. With its unique pineapple crème brûlée accord and nods to well known designer and niche scents, it offers a good deal. If you’re looking for a gourmand fragrance with a creamy, resinous twist that’s wearable, not banal, and budget-friendly, this one should be high on your list.
