Rule of the Few…
…this is how an "oligarch" is described.

Unfortunately, this is more than accurate for this perfume, as it was discontinued shortly after its long-awaited release in this variant. So congratulations to all who can call it by its original name.

With Roja Oligarch, we receive a fresh fragrance with a woody and spicy undertone.
For such a scent, the longevity and sillage are above average.

Right after spraying, we are greeted by a citrus freshness bomb. The fragrance slowly transforms into a woody and slightly spicy blend. However, the citrus opening never fades away and lingers in the background throughout the day. The lemon and lime prove to be very enduring, but not intrusive.

For me, the scent progression quickly becomes quite linear and genius in its existence.

Anyone who enjoys fresh scents with woody and slightly spicy notes can't go wrong with this one. Additionally, it accompanies you throughout a whole day at the office, making its presence known again and again with a lovely scent cloud.

New Favorite, but Only After the Second Sniff
I am lucky to have a TOP niche perfumery nearby where I regularly get to test high-quality fragrances in depth.
The extensive testing was also necessary for me with this scent, as the title suggests.

After the first spray on my forearm, I was not impressed at all - neither negatively nor positively, I didn't think much about it (maybe I had tested too many before).
I thoughtlessly put the fragrance back on the shelf and left the store shortly after with empty hands. Of course, not very successful for a perfume enthusiast on such a day, but sometimes there’s just nothing that catches your interest… ;)

Since it was a sales Sunday in the city, I wandered around a bit and looked around here and there. And then, here comes the classic :D, I kept catching whiffs of such a brilliant and wonderful scent. I could not associate the fragrance with any of my other tests that day. Since I had also dismissed Pikovaya Dama, it was not on my mind anymore. So, back to the perfumery to test it again. When the sales associate showed me the tester bottle, I briefly doubted myself, but yes, that was it! My eyes sparkled in disbelief! ;)

When I think today about how I almost "missed" the scent, it is all the more surprising what it has become now.
Why? Because it currently belongs to my TOP favorites! That must mean something… From the first contact of "meh" to a favorite fragrance, there's a lot of perfume, well, air, in between.

Pikovaya Dama does not have a pronounced scent development, but you have to get to know it and give it some time. I can only recommend this to everyone for this wonderful perfume.
Test it at your leisure and maybe over two or three days.

In my view, the luxurious soap scent is equally wearable for men and women. Based on the feedback I have received so far (direct and indirect), the scent is not directly assignable to any gender in perception and sillage.
Speaking of which: Longevity on my skin is at least 9 hours & sillage 8/10

As mentioned above, Pikovaya Dama does not have a significant scent development. For me, it is a wonderful luxurious soap scent. I must admit that I struggle with comparing such an expensive perfume to the word "soap." Is it just because I associate soap directly with "cheap"? I don't know. But nothing about this scent seems cheap at all. Not even the "soap" scent. It simply smells super pleasant, soapy, and beautifully rounded. I would bathe in it ;) I wouldn't need soap anymore :-P

Love at FIRST (sniff)
Ishq is a wonderful saffron-strawberry scent.

The strawberry is absolutely not overly sweet or artificial. It nestles perfectly into a small saffron cloud and projects all day long. However, the fragrance is never intrusive or too overpowering, as the sweetness of the strawberries and the saffron work together in a unique composition, showcasing their best sides without needing to shout.

I could understand the comparison to BR540 at first with a quick sniff. However, it quickly becomes clear that there are at most slight similarities. Ishq is a standalone beautiful fragrance (BR540 has a completely different sweetness and, in direct comparison, a somewhat piercing saffron).

When: always
Who: everyone
Why: because it’s genius ;)

Longevity and sillage are above average and just right for this type of fragrance.

Off to the new favorite scent at 40 knots
I did it again - a blind buy. When the package arrived, I was actually a bit nervous, as I was absolutely unsure whether 40 Knots would be for me.

I opened the package and there was the beautiful XerJoff outer box in dark blue; inside the usual brilliant leather case. I picked up the bottle and my first impression was nothing but positive. 40 Knots looks really great, especially when held against the light. It shines wonderfully in blue and purple tones.

I removed the spray head and hoped: Please please please be good. I actually hesitated for a moment, wondering whether I should test it right away or wait a bit longer… Then I thought, why wait? Jump into the cold water and here we go - Pfff-Pfff - sprayed it twice on my arm.

And then… JOY to the power of 10!!!

40 Knots starts citrusy fresh - I liked it immediately. After about 10 - 20 minutes, it becomes a bit warmer and a salty, woody note comes into play. The fresh, aquatic scent is carried in the background the whole time.

Imagine you are on a yacht and jump into the wonderfully turquoise sea, swim a lap, come out of the water, and head straight into the sauna with your still wet-salty skin. The sauna is BRAND NEW and is just being heated up. You open the door to the empty, new sauna, which is already slightly preheated, and immediately perceive this wonderful scent of the entire wooden paneling. A first infusion has just taken place with a slightly fresh mixture (the mixture contained a tiny little drop of honey, but just a small one!).

That’s exactly how 40 Knots smells after the top note has receded into the background: wonderful fresh, slightly warm wood (so absolutely not heavy, old, or forest-like), but like from a new sauna, where you get to be the first guest to enter and relax after the fun in the sea. The infusion gives the entire experience that certain something and rounds everything off to the fullest satisfaction :)

For me, it’s clear: this candidate deserves more attention!

Longevity and sillage are very good and in the usual XerJoff quality. From my perspective, the scent can be worn in any season and for all occasions. A true all-rounder, just as one wishes :)

I love it!

I want it, I don't want it, but give me some of it, rather not...
… that's what the scent does to me. I just don't know.

The fragrance is so diverse that you don't even know if you should like it or rather stay away from it.

One thing is for sure: the quality of the perfume is top-notch! You can tell that right after the first spray.

Still, even after testing the fragrance on myself, I can't say what I like or dislike about it.

On my skin, a smoky note develops after a short time, which makes the scent feel a bit more masculine. I really like that!

While I am writing this comment, I am wearing Scherrer EdP and simply cannot come to a conclusion about whether I should like it, love it, hate it, or despise it.

To me, it has something arrogant; it shouts at you, "Here I am, you have to like me." If you look away for a moment, take your arm to the side, and smell it again, you hear it say, "I am so wonderful and fit perfectly with you."

Sillage and longevity are very good and impress me a lot. Just right for this type of scent! It is spicy, fresh, smoky, and floral all at once. Too much of a good thing? I don't know ;)
