How should I explain it, the Chypre? I don’t know. It’s similar to the universally popular offside in football. Please define! Uhhh.... I can’t, neither one nor the other. I recognize it/him as soon as I see it, or have a representative of its kind under my nose.
"1000" is 100% a Chypre. Just like they were thrown onto the, at that time still manageable, market in the 80s (probably even before that) in large numbers.

The typical Chypre-nose "gong" is unmistakable.
Strong, assertive, and with a radiance that is rarely found today, in this form.
Very familiar, this scent reminds me of bustling, sunny summer days in the big city.
Of a time when one would generously spray heavy, loud perfumes completely unbothered on warm to hot days. Wonderful!
I personally didn’t wear this or any other "Jean Patou" back then, I was too young, or they were too "old", in any case, too elegant.
Nowadays I might give it a try. With a "little atomizer", very lightly dosed....

Warm, sensual, and uniquely enchanting, this fantastic fragrance captivated me.
As a high school graduate, I worked part-time in a perfume shop during the Christmas holidays.
Samples and miniatures were freely accessible to us.
We stocked up and sniffed to our heart's content.

Then came Lancaster!

Never before and never again has a fragrance penetrated my skin like this one.
We became one.
For almost 15 to 20 years, it was my scent, my constant identifying feature, my great love. There were some other lovely fragrances that came into play in between, but Lancaster was my everything, the undisputed number 1.

Today I still love it very much, but I no longer want to wear it.
It reminds me of my youthful storm-and-stress period, which is long gone,
a sense of nostalgia washes over me.
It is well-kept in my wardrobe and remains there as a dear friend.
I hold it in high regard.

My first Souk treasure!
True gourmands are not my specialty and have largely been avoided until now. I feared a fruit overload and sugar shock.
However, this delicious vanilla dream has captivated me. Soft, clear, and delicately sweet, rounded off by subtle wildflower and musk notes, it will warmly envelop me on these cold, gray winter days and evenings, providing comfort.
An absolute winter fragrance.
A cloud of "Everything is good!" and the wicked world can stay outside, wonderful!

In the early 90s, I encountered Kouros. In the student flat of my then-boyfriend, the scent made its rounds.
From then on, my nose was firmly attached to his neck whenever he was doused in this seductive substance. If I may reference the beautiful image of the "stinking ocelot enclosure" by Toytiger, Kouros transformed quite a few of us young women into lustful cats.
Unparalleled, animalistic, powerful, and irresistible.

I have no idea if the texture is still the same today. Kouros is, for me, a fragrance of its time and forever associated with youth, masculine strength, and vitality.
