Delicate powdery rose dream
Last week I received the Discovery Set from Les Eaux Primordiales.
One fragrance from the Supercritique collection particularly enchanted me... "Rose Supercritique | Les Eaux Primordiales" was love at first sniff.

The Supercritique collection contains fragrances from an extraction process using CO2, which makes it possible to obtain the essential oil of a flower while preserving every molecule of its fragrance without altering its quality. At least that's what it says on the homepage... and the very first time I test it, I smell this delicate, natural but also very authentic rose.
I am enchanted...

The opening starts with a pleasant citrus (bergamot), some acidity (green apple) and a very fresh, clear and bright rose + tangy, fruity redcurrant.
The spices (myrrh and cardamom) are very quiet and subtle.
The fragrance then quickly becomes very powdery and dry due to the incense. This powdery, light incense rose remains for a very long time and a delicate vanilla sweetness is added in the drydown.
For me, "Rose Supercritique | Les Eaux Primordiales" is therefore more of a feminine fragrance, but of course anyone can wear it.

The fragrance is beautiful and deserves much more attention in my opinion.

Lasting power and sillage are good.
The fragrance becomes skin-deep relatively quickly, but every now and then one is discreetly noticed.

If you like natural, non-stinging roses, you should definitely try this fragrance!

"Rose Supercritique | Les Eaux Primordiales" is now going on my wish list.
I would be interested in your opinion...

Shower gel fragrance of the fine English kind
You can wear this green pearl almost anywhere in England. I can see the following scenes in my mind's eye:
David Beckham freshly showered after an international match in the changing room at Wembley Stadium, Prince William at a polo match or at afternoon tea in the garden of Buckingham Palace, Ed Sheeran at a concert on stage, Gerard Butler on a film set...
And what does the fragrance smell like?
Fresh, fruity in the opening with subtle citrus (apple, bergamot, mandarin), it then becomes somewhat greener and at the same time spicier (tea, green leaves, pepper). The clean base (musk) with a little sweetness (tonka bean) runs through the entire fragrance and keeps it from becoming too masculine.
Yes, Kate could actually wear this fragrance for sports too.
I won't wear it because I don't identify with the fragrance.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful, well-made fragrance.
Where and when can you wear the fragrance, apart from in England?
For me it's a fragrance for outdoor activities, you can wear it for sports or after sports, in the gym, at a barbecue in the garden.
I don't see it for a cozy evening on the couch, in the office or in a club.

Mon Cherie at the Yacht Club of Monaco
The first impression is spicy and sweet and reminds me of "Casamorati - Dolce Amalfi (Eau de Parfum) | XerJoff". Then, unfortunately, a very high-percentage alcohol note comes through briefly, which I don't like so much, but can only be smelled close to the skin.
As it progresses, the fragrance is reminiscent of some good old acquaintances, e.g. the heavenly "Angels' Share | Kilian", the sweetly seductive "Khaltat Night (Eau de Parfum) | Attar Collection" and the wicked "Lost Cherry (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford".
It seems as if all the boozy, spicy, oriental-sweet, luxurious gourmands have met up with a box of Mon Cherie at the yacht club in Monaco and are now competing with each other to create a delicious and seductive fragrance.
I like it, except for the overly strong alcohol note.
I interpret the following notes in the fragrance pyramid:
Winter apple, cinnamon, cardamom, whisky, cherry, caramel, tobacco, vanilla, tonka bean.
Sillage and longevity are okay, but not outstanding.
The fragrance is unisex and not too Christmassy, so I would wear it at any time of year.

Wonderful hiking letter surprise
"17/17 - Begum | XerJoff"
The stranger in my Xerjoff travel letter that reached me earlier this week.
15 Xerjoff fragrances thanks to a dear perfumer. Most of the fragrances were familiar to me, or I had them on my radar, had always wanted to explore them more closely, or had already classified them as uninteresting to me.
I have created a folder so that I don't lose track.
However, one name didn't mean anything to me... and that was "17/17 - Begum | XerJoff"
The notes sounded promising, but I wasn't so enthusiastic about the first test on the fragrance strip.
The mix of berries, citrus fruits and freesia smelled a bit "musty" to me, so I put the strip aside for the time being.
The next morning, I smelled all the strips again and one fragrance in particular surprised me with its delicate, creamy base. "17/17 - Begum | XerJoff"
It was time for an intensive test on the skin.
And now I have to admit that I like it best of all the fragrances I have tested so far. The somewhat musty top note, which reminds me of PH-5 Eucerin cream, doesn't last long, maybe 30 minutes. Then the fragrance becomes more and more creamy, delicate and somehow sweet.
Of the listed notes, I perceive the lilac, the lily of the valley well. Ylang ylang is also subtly present. The natural, non-pungent roses and jasmine play a subordinate role here.
The fragrance then becomes woodier as it progresses and is grounded by patchouli, but remains creamy and delicately floral.
I tested it at the same time as "Amber Star | XerJoff" and in my own perception, "17/17 - Begum | XerJoff" is the clear favorite in terms of sillage and longevity.
I know that "Amber Star | XerJoff" is mega popular, but for me, "17/17 - Begum | XerJoff" clearly wins the race here.
In the end, I have to say that I really like the Begum and it's a wonderful surprise for a hiking letter.

Shockingly in love...
... into this peaches and cream dream.

The outlet around the corner had new niche fragrances on offer again.
So let's go there, I thought to myself... and I wasn't disappointed this time either.
3 Gritti fragrances smiled at me, including "Gossip Night | Gritti", which was on my watch list.
I absolutely had to try it. One spray on my wrist under supervision and I was immediately impressed.
What does the fragrance smell like?
A powdery, fruity and tropical cloud of fragrance greets me, somehow girly and yet grown-up, not squeaky sweet.
I smell a tropical scent, slightly sweet, floral (heliotrope, mango blossom), but also fruity notes (lychee). Although cream is only listed in the heart note, I notice it right from the start.
It becomes really gourmand when caramel and peach are added after a while. The notes are all perfectly interwoven and you can always detect the scent on yourself without it being distracting. This subtle fruity, not at all artificial milky sweetness smells simply heavenly to me.
For me, "Gossip Night | Gritti" is therefore a typical spring/summer gourmand fragrance that also comes into its own on cold days.
After a few hours, the base notes slowly come to the fore. The musk brings a clean, groomed feel, vanilla and cashmeran give me the feeling of having bathed in creamy fabric softener, fantastic
The very feminine fragrance has good longevity and sillage and you can wear it all year round.
With a rating of 7.3, it is definitely underrated for me.
I can recommend this fragrance to anyone who doesn't yet have a creamy peach dream in their collection.
It moved in with me on the test day and I love it.
