A rose is......not always a rose.......
Rose scents are not my cup of tea.....it is solely thanks to the persuasive power of the very competent Gesa Hotzen of Santa Maria Novella Munich that I have tested this scent at all....

"You do not like roses.. Then this is the perfect rose scent for you...! A completely new interpretation of this fragrance ..."

And how right she was...! The combination rose+citrus fruits results in something very unusual and unique.......the acidity of the citrus fruits takes away the weight and turgidity of the rose.....and lets it shine almost fruity and fresh.....as if there was such a thing as a "rose fruit".......this surprising and beautiful first impression is underlined by a soft blossom breeze.......really only a touch.......

Very soon a fine herbal note is added........no pizza oregano and also no sharp-biting T-bone steak pepper.......the herbs rather trickle over the event with a discreet spice, which gives the scent an extremely noble impression.......I spontaneously think of the image of an elegantly dressed racy Milanese woman, who masters the game of seduction just as well as the trade with shares......

The fragrance closes with an incredibly beautiful and warm soft mossy base.....

All in all it is a very subtle fragrance......understated and with remarkable class......it smells to me like dignified serenity and perfect femininity.....

Anything less than expected...
As part of my reference gourmand search, a bottling FEVE DELICIEUSE has of course also moved in with me. And I was really curious...!!! So many eulogies...! So wonderful sounding fragrances...!!

I had expected something deliciously rich-creamy.....a lulling cookie-dough-caramel-cream brûlée-vanilla note.....something like that......either my nose or the fragrance itself has upset my plans

Here are my keyword notes of the past 3 test days:

Strangely biting prelude
Unfortunately powdery undertones
Too little sweet, too little gourmand...
Rather spicy
For Gourmand too "perfumed"
Maybe I don't like cocoa?
Low viscosity, not creamy
Rather masculine (Tonka: the vanilla for men)
Dental practice
Tire rubber
Behavior
Out of round
No dessert
Somehow not fish and not meat
After a few hours quite insignificant
Long shelf life

The lovers may forgive me ;-)......I nevertheless rate it with a 7, because the fragrance is not responsible for my personal expectations....

My Reference Gourmand
Gourmands have always been an extremely difficult topic for me.......actually, no one could ever really inspire me.....too squeaky, loud, inelegant and one-dimensional they often seem to me.......

Nevertheless, I recently decided that there should be at least ONE reference gourmand in my collection......For someone who doesn't like gourmands, finding one is a difficult task.....after all, I don't have the slightest bit of knowledge or experience in this area.......

With the active support of our wonderful community and to the exclusion of all NO GO fragrances, I have now actually succeeded in finding an indescribably fantastic gourmand.....one who will not only be a reference, but one I will actually wear.......

As a description of this really extraordinary beautiful scent I would like to simply mention here my list of keywords, which I have successively made during several days of testing...

Strong / powerful
Caramel (viscous)
Vanilla egg liqueur (first spray)
Dream vanilla
Vanilla crescent
Cake dough
very sweet / but natural sweetness
Creamy
Satt
Full-bodied
Soft buttery
Very feminine
Flattering
Enveloping
Delicate light coconut note / no penetrance
Noble Gourmand
Cream Brulée
Unique wildflower note
produces a slightly herbaceous twist in the heart note ...
Tobacco blossom makes the scent appear mature and elegant despite its sweetness ...
Perceptible in the whole spectrum even after many hours
Infinitely durable
It's him

I would hardly have thought it possible, but this gourmand has indeed conquered my heart :-)...

Flowery green jackpot...
There was a time when French fragrance houses were among my undisputed favourites......unfortunately (for me at least ;-)...) many of them have dedicated themselves to the current fragrance trends - which is understandable in monetary terms...

However, they have lost me for the most part as a potential customer....at least as far as the newer fragrances are concerned.....I like it classic, floral, green, chypry......understated, elegant and distinguished......

The obvious thing to do now was to turn more and more to the traditional English fragrance houses ......here I find everything my heart desires .....and even MORE!

Like for example "Connemara"......the fragrance house here is Irish, but nevertheless it remains true to the typical British line.....

Connemara is flowery-green-bright without being pungent or cold......mimosa and a shaken measure of clove ensure that the fragrance does not slip too much into small girlish sweetness, but also wraps the adult woman in a classically elegant floral veil.....

My iris fears (yes, I don't like iris ;-)...) fortunately didn't come true... together with peach, sandalwood and vanilla it merely provides a soft and flattering base here......the fragrance never gets dry or even dusty at any time....

In my imagination Connemara is a fragrance for a long summer walk or ride through the wild green Irish countryside and the final Guiness in the village pub.....

Hach, what is there better than a blind purchase, which is not only shamelessly cheap, but also a bull's eye :-)...!

Divine nectar...
Aventus "does" something to people..... not with all of them, but with very, very many........

I smelled this fragrance for the first time on one of my friends.......so you can definitely rule out that I was distracted by the attractiveness of a male wearer on whom I might have liked EVERYTHING just because it is HE ;-).......

This scent attracted me so magically that I sniffed at it all afternoon :-D........the bigger the surprise was when it turned out to be

(a) is a men's fragrance and
b) also one with fruit...!!!

Normally my nose as a perfume for ladies rejects everything that even gives off a hint of masculinity.......and fruits - especially sweet ones like pineapple - are not exactly my prey scheme......

Aventus has turned all this upside down......no other men's fragrance has ever managed that before....some kind of "magic" is at work there.....every time I smell him he attracts me irresistibly and lures me to the neck of his wearer.....

On me personally, Aventus has undeniably the effect of a powerful aphrodisiac....and it makes no difference whether it is classified as extraordinary or banal, boring or exciting, mainstream or high-end.....one could just think that Creed had secretly and unmentionably added a huge dose of pheromones to this scent......

Aventus IS...! At least with me ;-)......
