Beautiful Fairground Gourmand!
I ordered this fragrance directly from the French shop of Jeanne Arthes because I was so curious. The scent is initially very affordable. I once had the
Tea Time à Paris - Macaron Amande from the same line, which I liked a lot, but the dominant almond sometimes causes me issues. Additionally, the scent didn't last well on me. Here we have an incredibly well-balanced fragrance with no disturbing notes, which also lasts fantastically (on me). I have repeatedly worn it to sleep for testing in the last few weeks, and it easily lasted until the next morning. When I woke up at night, I was surrounded by a beautiful, fluffy cloud. The scent opens with caramel and vanilla, really as if the most delicious dessert is being served to you. The fragrance doesn't have a significant evolution, and I definitely don't find it too edible; it is a very wearable scent. I particularly like that the vanilla and brown sugar come through nicely, while the caramel is more in the background. It is NOT an artificial baking vanilla, like I perceive in "Vanille (Eau de Parfum) | Solinotes," which actually makes me feel a bit nauseous. It is a fluffy, feather-soft cloud of caramel, sugar, and vanilla. It smells like the stand at the fair where they sell chocolate-covered fruits, roasted almonds, and all sorts of other delicacies. You can definitely compare this scent to "Eclaire / اكلاير | Lattafa / لطافة" and "La Nuit Blanche | LPDO." The Eclaire is more of a powerhouse; I also like it a lot, and it definitely has a much stronger sillage than the Chou a la Creme, but in many settings, that's not so appropriate, and I find the Jeanne Arthes perfect as a light gourmand. With the Eclaire and the LPDO, I get a slightly piercing note at the opening from the caramel. I often experience this with caramel, which is why I can only tolerate this scent note in moderation. I don't know the "Bianco Latte | Giardini di Toscana," which also has similar notes. Here, for around €12, you get an incredibly beautiful, feather-light, wonderfully soft gourmand that is not only beautiful for the price but that I would rate the same way even if it cost ten times as much.

Summer Day in a Bottle
In my childhood, I spent a lot of time in the Eifel and associate many wonderful memories with the gentle hills, deciduous forests, meadows, and pastures there. Rolling down the slope, climbing on hay bales, picking little bouquets for my mom, building marble runs from stones, sticks, and leaves, finding little toads, observing tadpoles in the water, and of course jumping into the crystal-clear water of the Maare, immersing myself and forgetting everything around me. Those were wonderful, carefree childhood days. And this scent has something that reminds me of those summer days. In the opening, I get a watermelon that is very pleasant, unlike, for example, with Escada fragrances, where the watermelon has made me feel queasy. And then the wildflowers come in. It smells as if you are sitting in a wildflower meadow, eating watermelon, and climbing on hay bales in between. There is some aromatic, soothing note that resonates, along with a wonderful sweetness. For some, the scent might even be too sweet, but I really like it because of this sweetness. It is a very pleasing, fine fragrance. The longevity is perfectly fine, the bottle is beautiful, and the price is reasonable.

Lemon Tart with Powdered Sugar
I became aware of this fragrance because someone on Fragrantica mentioned that it would be in the direction of "Miss Dior (2021) (Eau de Parfum) | Dior," which I love very much. However, since I find it very expensive and it is indeed continuously getting more expensive, I am always looking for affordable alternatives. Therefore, I took the plunge and bought this one blind. I often don't like lemon as a fragrance note because it reminds me of cleaning products in most cases. Here, the lemon smells more like a lemon meringue, quite gourmand, and I have no associations with cleaners, which is already great. It then leads into a powdery, delicate, soft drydown. A certain acidity of the lemon remains and integrates nicely. The scent reminds me of a lemon dessert but is not too edible. A very nice fragrance that indeed goes in a similar direction as "Miss Dior (2021) (Eau de Parfum) | Dior," but is not as complex, not as floral, and to my nose sweeter than the Dior. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable, and I am always amazed at how well the fragrances from Britney Spears are made.
Update: The lemon note has something syrupy for my nose. Unfortunately, this causes me headaches. I often feel this way with fruity or citrus fragrance notes. Thus, the fragrance will probably not remain in my collection, even though it is a really beautiful scent at a crazy price.
Update 2025: The fragrance is currently available for a mere 10€ for 100ml. Since my taste has changed quite a bit over the past few years and some fragrances have made a comeback, I decided to give it another test and bought it again. And I must say, I like it again now, but unfortunately, it hardly projects on my skin, and I only perceive it faintly after a short time. And after a while, it seems somewhat synthetic. Let's see if it can stay this time...

Why do you attract me so magically?
I have owned
Idôle for about two years now and initially found the scent just okay. A fruity opening with pear, followed by a beautiful, very bright, dewy musk rose. Overall, to my nose, it's somehow a clean, fine fragrance. However, what I didn't expect happened: I kept reaching for it every morning for work. When I couldn't think too much about which fragrance to wear, it was always "Idôle | Lancôme." Again and again. In winter, I sometimes overlooked it, as I preferred my vanilla-heavy scents then. Now I have brought it back out and remember what I like about it. It smells somehow bell-clear, like a still slightly cool spring morning, where the sun is already breaking through. Like dew on light pink roses, whose petals appear so fragile and innocent, almost transparent. Like freshly washed, airy bed linens waiting for me in the evening during a vacation after an eventful day, exuding the scent of a very nice fabric softener. I fall in love with the fragrance anew each time, even if it receives less attention at times. The sillage and longevity are fantastic. You can still smell it after 12 hours. Soft, warm, fresh, fluffy, airy, and clean is "Idôle | Lancôme," and I simply find it wonderful.

A Sunny Indian Summer Day...
It is afternoon. The sun is already lower now than it was just a few weeks ago in July. I feel that nature is preparing for autumn. The fields have been mowed and shimmer in the golden late summer light. The leaves are still green, but heavy and tired from the revelry of summer, and some yellow patches are already flashing in the treetops. In between, the afternoon sun sparkles, still warming me wonderfully. It is completely still and quiet. In the bushes by the roadside, spider webs reflect the light. Rose hips glow warm red and hang heavily from the branches. First flocks of birds are gathering, preparing for their journey into the distance. I take a deep breath and enjoy this Indian summer day. It is slowly getting cool, a blue twilight envelops the path in soft melancholy. I snuggle into my favorite sweater and head home. Goodbye, summer. We'll see each other next year.
This image evokes Orchidée Vanille in my mind. The top note is somewhat fruity, but it is not a fresh fruitiness; rather, it is immediately underlaid with a warm spice. This slightly dark fruitiness remains throughout the entire scent journey. However, it is dominated by an indescribably beautiful, slightly spicy, dark, minimally smoky vanilla that feels mature and elegant. It is not a vanilla that I have ever smelled before. Therefore, the scent is not tangible for me; I find no comparison to anything that smells similar or exactly like it. While the scent is spicy and somewhat smoky, it is also featherlight, floating, warm. Just like the melancholy of a day in Indian summer. I am so, so in love with this scent; it is simply indescribably beautiful. On my skin and clothing, it lasts very well and long, and radiates beautifully as well.
