Hello folks, I'm back! Phew, I haven't written anything here for two months... I actually wanted to write something new at the beginning of October, but something came up. I mean, October,... Hello? Those who know me know that I particularly like two things:
… no, I'm not talking about Star Wars. Or Indiana Jones. Or Batman. Or video games. Or comics in general. Or scantily dressed girls… uh okay… there are indeed more than two things I like… :D
But October is the Halloween month, and as you know, besides Christmas, I'm totally into Halloween, so instead of sniffing perfumes and writing about them in October, I chose a spooky/horror and Halloween theme every day and drew a picture about it with my children's book cat figures (yes, there are people who have more than just a perfume hobby, even if it might be hard for you to believe, he he). By the way, if you're interested in the pictures, just message me and I'll show you where you can view them (for free, of course). You can get an idea of that if you check out the last picture from my last Christmas blog :)
...
So, now we have November, which is usually quieter (I did have a birthday at the beginning of November, but I'm glad that's behind me... we're all getting older and older, and... especially you all know exactly what I mean, he he he… :D). Then we recently renovated something where even a bottle broke... ha ha that was a joke, I love scaring you! :D
But then a few days ago, I finally sniffed something again!
And now I finally come to the scent. And as a good re-entry into a scent review, I chose, once again, a tea scent :D And the fragrances from Elizabeth Arden are usually quite good, maybe a bit too light and fleeting, but I generally find them quite nice.
And today it's about "Green Tea Coconut Breeze," which already sounds summery or like a vacation, something that some are surely missing due to the now cold days, even though I have to admit that I am currently in my favorite season and am already a bit sad that Christmas will soon be over, even though we don't even have December yet,… argh, in two weeks it will surely be summer again with killer heat waves, nooooo!!! :D
But to the scent:
The Scent:
The scent starts immediately with the familiar green tea scent, which smells quite nice and fresh together with a citrus note. However, then a rather unusual scent note comes in: salt! Well, the fragrance description mentions salted coconut (do you sprinkle salt on a coconut??? okay… :D), but I wouldn't have thought that the salt scent could be perceived so intensely here. I actually smell more salt than coconut. However, it doesn't smell bad, even though it somewhat overshadows the tea. The scent, however, smells like a vacation scent, so summery fresh by the sea near the coast, where the air smells of salty sea scent. I find it quite nice.
And yes, coconut eventually comes in, although rather little, and you have to smell closer to the skin for that.
So,… I had hoped that the following wouldn't be noticeable, but after a short while, a bit of coriander seems to come through. There may be strange people who are said to like the scent of coriander… but I absolutely do not like it :D The scent is still weak, and I hope it stays that way because otherwise, it would ruin the whole perfume for me personally… but let's keep looking or better sniffing!
A little later, the salt and the coriander fortunately fade. Now you can smell green tea again with citrus notes and a light, creamy background. The artificially created scent notes like Petalia or Karmaflor smell just as they are described (yes, I had to look it up), so mainly floral scent notes, although I can't say anything specific here. Perhaps a bit rosy scented maybe?
In any case, in the base, there is still a light tea scent, but the scent is now becoming a bit sweeter, I assume due to the amber and musk, which smell quite nice. This lasts for about 1-2 hours before the scent gradually fades.
All in all, a scent that smells quite nice, as long as you like coconut, green tea, and slightly sweet notes.
The Sillage and Longevity:
Like almost all Green Tea scents from Elizabeth Arden, this one also has a rather weak sillage and only smells strong when applied. After that, it becomes noticeably weaker in the next few minutes and is also quickly close to the body. But I think this scent is still among the slightly stronger Green Tea scents.
Therefore, due to the sweeter base, the longevity is also longer, so I would say around four to five hours, although the scent is, as mentioned, mostly close to the body during that time.
The Bottle:
The bottle still has the same shape as it has for years, but comes with a different design. This time, you see a color gradient from teal to pink in pastel tones, and fitting with the vacation feeling of the scent, there are also palm trees next to a green tea leaf on the front. Nothing special in itself, but at least quite nice to look at.
Conclusion:
Hmm, yes, I would classify Green Tea Coconut Breeze among the more successful scents of the Green Tea line. The initial vacation-like scent and the later warm-sweet base appeal to me quite a bit. You do have to accept that these scents generally radiate rather weakly, but that applies to many, even quite expensive summer scents as well.
It is certainly clear that the scent fits best in spring and summer; on colder days, you can only enjoy it at home, although you could also use it as a casual "office scent" if you don't want to fill the whole office with a fragrance. Especially in winter, one tends to apply scents way too much and envelop everything in clouds of fragrance :D
The scent is often compared to Guerlain's Coconut Fizz, but I don't have the scent from Guerlain in mind anymore, so I can't say anything about it. I could read it in my own review, but let's be honest, who even reads my reviews? Especially when they are so long? :D
A test is definitely recommended, as it should still be available, at least online it is still available (November 2025).
So, I've talked a lot here again… :D
Thanks for reading, I wish you all a lovely evening, until next time then, which hopefully won't take so long this time :)
