DIOR perfumes have lost their liability?

I read extravaganzas of the DIOR house such as a limited  bottle of the new Diorissimo edt 40 ml will cost 15,000€.  Of course the bottle will be made of Baccarat  crystal and the details on it are made of gold 18k.Well,well,well...... Here is an original bottle of Diorissimo edt I believe from late seventies beginning of eighties the seller asks 250€ only!

I find the vintage bottle quite beautiful too actually! The limited bottle is a work of art though. I personally would never dare to touch it without wearing gloves haha

@Tzapan the vintage cap almost look like ivory!
Good thing the use of vison was banned indeed… I’m against the use of animal products, and even more when they’re killed.
I was reading about civet the other night; the author of the book was wondering how it was discovered that the secretions could be used in perfumery - apparently, pure it’s horrendous, diluted it’s beautiful and almost floral!

@Longevity special laboratory gloves. Yes the vintage bottle is fine and great box! I remember this box from the eighties. The perfume also contains real cyvet extract. I had a bottle of Fabergé's musk which smelled beautifully.it was also very inexpensive that Musk. Later on I found out it contained extract from male visone. Of course it was banned later on. Poor things not only hunted down for their thick water proof fur, but also killed for the gland that produced the seduction aroma used to mate.

Wow, this is a major price difference @Tzapan ! 👀
I understand there is some "collectable"/"rare" appeal to the special edition bottle design, but I would rather have more fragrances than a unique bottle for that kind of price.
It is a very interesting bottle though!

@Gourmandgrl it is a launch that is not addressed to us just for the price it carries. Thanks DIOR but nope!

Oh yes @Tzapan , I definitely understand it's a very special edition!
Still too pricey for my personal taste, but completely understand if others would enjoy spending their money on it.
That's part of what makes the fragrance community interesting, since everyone approaches their collecting differently! 😊

@Gourmandgrl maybe you haven't understood that this special edition 40 ml Baccarat crystal bottle will be a new inspiration of Diorissimo influencers and high collectors, editors would only be interested. You have to apply for a bottle. Pre order! The vintage one is 100ml

I doubt folks who buy the €15,000 bottle will even use the juice inside, it's an art piece to display in your home, might as well be buying a sculpture.

@Omnipotato at that price you don't even unwrap the cellophane. Keep it all sealed with rhe receipt. Just in case you resell later

Wow! After reading this, I`m going to think really hard before rating another fragrance as "very expensive."
GourmandgrlGourmandgrl 4 months ago
Haha good point @Raluko111 - all of the other fragrances will now be rated as "10" for "very good value" in comparison to this! 😂

@Raluko111 you are such a great soul to write this comment! Thank you for this! We should never complain and get shocked with the price of a fragrance

It would be funny if the original smelled better than the newer in the expensive bottle!

Exactly! And to be honest there are statements and comments from women who used this original fragrance and all say the best words about it! And I find it terrible that huge price 15,000€ for an artisan bottle with a dubious modern juice for me is not addressed at all to fragrance collectors

A luxury Baccarat crystal bottle with gold details is a collector's item, while a vintage Diorissimo bottle from the 70s is a completely different thing... hard to compare the two.

@DonVanVliet you are right but You see my point too
