It's All About Inner Values
They always say that with twins, one is cool and the other is sweet: Layton is of course the cool twin. Détour Noir tries to be confident and cool at first, but since it doesn't succeed, it ultimately relies on its pleasantly sweet side in the drydown. "Good for that!" I must say. However, I understand that one might not associate the scent with its twin individual during the initial top notes. But after at most 1 hour, you have what you expect.

For 20 €, you can't go wrong here. The scent comes in terms of longevity, intensity, depth, and uniqueness to about 90-95 % close to Layton; for the remaining 5-10 %, you just have to pay the 270 € premium (which I can understand as well).

So it's quite simple: Everyone who loved Layton in the perfume store will adore Détour Noir at home!

Simpler little brother
The Black is known to be a dupe of the well-known "Emporio Armani - Stronger With You | Giorgio Armani," and I will measure it against that in the following. This means you can also get a precise description of the scent there.

As with almost every dupe, the little brother does not reach the original in terms of H/S and especially depth of scent. However, if you want a pleasantly sweet fragrance that a layperson cannot distinguish from the original, then you are exactly right here. After about 3-4 hours, the story of the inexpensive Black is already over...

My opinion: I don't particularly like "Emporio Armani - Stronger With You | Giorgio Armani," nor "Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely | Giorgio Armani," which is why this scent is too disturbingly sweet for my nose. At least Black is more restrained.

My recommendation: Test the original in the store, and if you like the scent, don't take the detour through this fragrance.

Very pleasant spice!
Boss Bottled Beyond was my first real perfume. For a young person, it’s probably what you imagine when you wear a suit. By now, I appreciate the scent for its cozy and not attention-seeking spiciness. If you want more, you should check out the adult brother Boss Bottled Beyond!

With 4 sprays, I started my afternoon into the rest of the day. For the part of the day I spent in the home office, the initial notes of bergamot, cinnamon, and citrus freshness were only meant for my nose. They kept me in a good mood.
By late afternoon, it was time for dance training - by this point, I had already had Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette on my skin for 5-6 hours. As I warmed up, the scent came alive on my skin one last time that day, and I had a lovely smell of light spice and vanilla in my nose, without being intrusive.

Clear recommendation for anyone looking for a cozy autumn/winter scent for everyday use. I think you can also wear Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette in spring and summer for evening events that require a more sophisticated dress code.

Perfume Test Before the Family Gathering
I went perfume shopping with my girlfriend before an evening family gathering. Particularly, Layton by PdM captivated both of us that day, so I applied a spray to my wrist at 4 PM.

First, I noticed the apple and lavender and was immediately thrilled. However, I didn't want to "count my chickens before they hatched," as most fragrances tend to change after the top notes anyway. The scent took its time and gradually transformed over the course of an hour into a pleasant vanilla fragrance with a hint of coffee, which still reminded me of the top notes. To my surprise, the fruity freshness of the top notes lingered throughout the entire evening, allowing Layton to be perceived even alongside the Spicebomb Extreme (which I was actually wearing).
Thus, by the end of the event at 2:30 AM, I could still clearly detect notes of the fragrance close to my skin. The Spicebomb was already a thing of the past. For those who aren’t great at math: that was a solid 10-11 hours that the scent lasted.

If I had the necessary funds, I would proudly place a 200 ml bottle of Layton on my shelf without hesitation. However, due to my student status, I will first test the dupe "Détour Noir" by "Al Haramain."

First Blind Buy
The Bomb was my first perfume blind buy, as I wanted something for winter.

With the first spray, you are greeted by pepper along with other spices. A second spray for longevity. Soothing yet focusing. A bit like the effect of a ginger shot in the top note. (I haven't dared to try three sprays yet...)
On my skin, the drydown takes about 1 hour. After that, the wonderfully sweet, warm vanilla unfolds, making the scent so wintry and cozy. In more heat (sports or events in enclosed spaces), a mysterious spiciness joins the vanilla, which has captivated even me.
After about 6-7 hours, the scent could only be perceived close to the skin; however, fragrances generally fade a bit faster on me.

So: Clear recommendation!
