Thanks Parfumo

I’ve been meaning to make the switch to Parfumo for a whileI’m making the effort to learn to use Parfumo! now, but I’ve  been lazy about it. I was so used to researching on the “other” fragrance site that it felt like too much trouble to get used to a new platform. I was finally pushed into making the change today and I am so glad to be here! Thank you Parfumo! I am finally making the effort to do what I needed to do for some time now. I have a feeling there are lots of us here after the most recent developments.

One thing you will really love about this site is the lack of intrusive ads

I'd put off learning how to use it for some time too, but it's fun to see all of the features. And I love that the community here is helpful and kind!

Welcome! I find that the UI/UX here is leagues better than Fragrantica, and the information/reviews for fragrances much more useful. I also look that there's a built-in, easy to use marketplace — I just hope the community continues to grow so there's more available. 😊

Good for you @Bottleginge! I did the same a while ago. Couldn't delete my own account, had to ask them to do that for me. Now I only take a look over there once in a while when I can't find a review of a scent here and this morning I stumbled upon their awful posts about Trump, with many members complaining about how political and far right the site is, instead of being about fragrances. Many of their post were deleted (and they claim to support 'free speech' figure that...🤔) . I think we can welcome a lot of new members here soon 🙂. Welcome to you, I think you will like this kind and friendly site! No political talk here!

I grabbed my popcorn and my confort blanket and read these posts... Politic might be a circus in our European countries but American politic has reached another level of circus...

Seriously, I know it takes a bit of getting used to, but the functionalities here are great. I find the wardrobe / collection functionality way more interesting here, it's super customizable.
(PLUS, as a bonus point: vs "the other site", you don't have politics shoved down your throat when you want to read about perfumes, how terrific is that? )

It looks like there's still a "critical mass" needed to get the ball going a bit more on this "International" version of Parfumo (vs the mega-active German version), but hey, let's do it!

I had no idea how awful the Fragrantica editors could be, and it was like a punch in the gut for me to find out I had been unwittingly sponsoring religious far-right zealots who could use something as beautiful as perfumes to shove their views and political leanings down the throat of folks who create their content for free! I am so glad I found this place. I have erased all my content on there, and if anyone else is going through this, the best strategy is not to engage them. Just erase all your content, send the admins a message to delete your account (you can't do it yourself and I don't want to inflate their numbers), and block the site from your browser. They survived from the site traffic, so this is the best way to get back at them. The less reviews, the less traffic (even from non-members), the less cash in their pocket. 

It gets my attention ranting and bad-intentioned replies, reviews in languages foreign to the edition of the site and the myriad of badly written reviews - orthography skills by many fraganticians are limited.

Better look elsewhere. This might be the place.

A lot of my reviews are in Romanian. The reason for this is that I was active on the Romanian Fragrantica and I loved writing in my native language. That was one of the good things about Fragrantica: it had mirror sites for other languages. Hopefully this site will grow and be inclusive enough to allow all kinds of people to share. Maybe include an open AI translation function, so that users can automatically translate from other languages? I realize it might be annoying for some people who see my reviews right now since they're only in Romanian. I will do my best to translate them asap.
