In search of resinous pine fragrances 2

I think I've figured out that pine is a note I really love in fragrance. Two of my favorites are Fille en aiguilles (tragically discontinued so I've only been able to smell a dupe, which sadly had way too much iso e super in the base) and Arso.

I would like recommendations for similar pine-heavy scents that preferably also have a resinous note, e.g. labdanum, cistus, frankincense.

I would highly recommend Pine. Like the name suggests, it’s all about pine, and I find it plenty resinous!

On my list to try (so can't recommend specific scent) but take a look at the Pineward Perfumes house if they are available by you. They don't seem to ship outside the US, so it would have to be through a perfume shop.

Hello,

Really quickly: I'm fairly certain Fille en aiguilles is not discontinued. It's usual now for the SL website to remove the page of any perfume they don't have in stock at the moment (which can last months and months) as if the scent never existed, but then the page reappears eventually, when they have stock again.

If you check their official website, it is available for purchase right now, in the gratte-ciel bottle still (before it disappears again and moves to a bell jar) Smile

Yes, you're right about Fille en Aiguilles...unfortunately it's completely inaccessible to me due to the price and distribution issues in my country! So it may as well be discontinued.

However, coincidentally, something extraordinary happened today. I was looking at a local decant website that I haven't checked for a while, and discovered they're now stocking it!!! Of course I've immediately ordered a sample. I'm so excited. They also had another rare Serge Lutens I've been wanting to try. Just amazingly good luck, I'm sure they'll sell out soon

As luck would have it, I found a local stockist for this brand - and I think they do samples. Definitely going to check them out, I love the concept.

Definitely second the recommendation for Pineward, I'm slowly testing my way through their catalog and they're great.

Murkwood is pine and incense (haven't tried this one yet, but looking forward to it). I'm really enjoying Bindebole, which is more green and excellent for spring. Fanghorn II I found to be quite heavy on the fir balsam, darker and also very nice.

Great to hear - I just ordered some samples from them including Fanghorn II and Murkwood.

I mean the holy trinity of pine is Fille en aiguilles , Polo Eau de Toilette , Yatagan Eau de Toilette . Id sample them.
