Perfume Bucket List

Perfume Bucket List 1

What perfume(s) do you want to test at least once in your lifetime?

Personally, I am so curious to try Boudoir Eau de Parfum. I’m a big fan of “edgy”perfumes marketed towards women, so you can imagine I’m dying to see what the commotion with Boudoir is all about!

Hi,

for the longest time I had only one perfume on my bucket list Le Bouquet de la Mariée Extrait de Parfum. I finally put a check on it last summer. Hope I don’t bore you with this story, here it goes.

Going through the Guerlain reviews and threads, I’ve read amazing reviews about this mythical perfume. People lucky enough to own a bottle and people who had tried it seemed love it so much. I had to smell it too!
Last summer, I marched right into the Guerlain boutique in the Champs-Elysees and asked the first SA I saw to show me “le plus beau jour de la mariee”. Yup, I said it like THAT, cringey I know but I was nervous and invested in smelling this unicorn. Fortunately, the SA was very polite and gracious. She picked up a bee bottle from the counter and sprayed generously on the paper card and on my wrist. It’s a delicate mix of powdery vanilla and sweet violet dragees. It’s fluffy, airy and sweet like caster sugar… and not my type of fragrance at all. Price tag? In the thousands of euros.
i walked out into the sunny midday, smelling my wrist happy to have smelled it and relieved that those golden bees hadn't sting my wallet.

Not boring at all!

What a relief to know that you saved lots of money that day! This is why I don’t blind buy unless it’s like, $25 on eBay lol.

I'm curious to try Boudoir Eau de Parfum, too!

Midnight Poison Eau de Parfum is one I've wanted to try since became interested in fragrances. I've heard many praise it and lament over the discontinuation of it. I'm not sure it's one I would love, but I'm so curious. When I look at other fragrances compared to it, it always seems iffy as to whether they're similar enough to really know.

Also, I've always wanted to try Iris Ganache and I strongly feel like it's one I would love just from looking at the notes and reading so much about it.

@jasperdezoet agree with you 💯 on blind buys. The strategy of a smelling bucket list helps a lot!

I have an impossible one: the original Chypre... Wouldn't even know where to find it 😀 But I am DYING to know what it smells like!

@valhelsingv

It’s not as difficult to obtain as it seems. Just sign up for updates on new Chypre listings on eBay and wait. Sooner or later a reasonably priced one will pop up. Just don’t pay any crazy prices. Also, there are scented Chypre powder sachets on eBay and other resale platforms that are priced much lower than the perfumes, so they’re a good way to get an idea of what the scent is like. And it’s nothing mind-blowing, to be honest, pretty simple. The really old ones don’t even smell the way they’re supposed to anymore, in my opinion.

@Sharkington and @jasperdezoet

Your dreams are about to come true! Boudoir Eau de Parfum is coming back soon. I’ve heard from multiple sources and platforms that the brand is bringing it back. Hopefully it will be close to the original.

@DRKSHDW Thank you! Tragically, it’s bumped up from $130 all the way to $230 for 50 ml to cover taxes and shipping to the US. Guess I’ll stick to Nebras Perfume Oil 😂😂😂

$100 in taxes/shipping? 😨The tariff situation is outrageous. Hopefully, with wider distribution, it will make its way to discounters in the U.S. (fingers crossed)
