Pick my next purchase!

Got a nice pay raise and Nordstrom happens to be having a sale for the next couple of days on fragrances. Time for a new purchase!

The two I'm deciding between are both private line fragrances that aren't readily available on discounters, and both kind of better-quality versions of cheaper designer fragrances: The Voice of the Snake is a better Guilty Absolute pour Homme and Velvet Zafferano is a better L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Noir Ambré. They're also about the same price, and both fall/winter bangers. Which should I get?

I voted for Voice of the Snake not because I've ever tried it but because the name and bottle are just very appealing to me lol

It’s a total 50/50 for me. Any reason is good enough!

The Voice of the Snake purely for the bottle. I witnessed it last weekend and it’s drop dead gorgeous. Add to that it’s an amazing scent. Way better than the mainstream one.

Edit: this inspired me to sell my bottle of Guilty Absolute pour Homme and get this one instead.

But if you are having second doubts, I'd go with The Voice of the Snake, I personally like that better of the two. Also more complex than the listed notes would indicate.

Looks like The Voice of the Snake is too far ahead for Velvet Zafferano to catch up. Gonna pick the Gucci up today!

Hoorah! You have tried and tested both already right? No regrets leaving the D&G for later perhaps?

Yeah I've tested both; they have them in person at the Nordstrom near me. My only disappointment is they seem to have changed the bottle design for the Gucci to be more plain text instead of the cursive. The black bottle and design are still gorgeous though.

Some of D&G's Velvet series are on discounters for like 50% off so I'm hoping I can find it in the next year or so for a lot cheaper, even though it's not available now for less than retail.
