The better value Guerlain fragrance?

The better value Guerlain fragrance? 0

Hello guys this is my first post. I was thinking of buying a new fragrance, and I'm stuck between Guerlain's Lhomme Ideal EDP and Habit Rouge EDT.

They are both around the same price, but Lhomme Ideal is 50ml while Habit Rouge is 100ml (+10ml small spray).

Should I go for HR, since it's more value for the money? Or Lhomme Ideal EDP? I fear HR may smell "dated" as some people say. What would you guys recommend? Lhomme Ideal or Habit Rogue?

Personally, I prefer L'Homme Idéal, but in your case, you are indeed getting better value with Habit Rogue. So ultimately, I would genuinely advise you to test them out first. Either buy a small sample of each or test them out at a store.

L'Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum is definitely the safer blind buy, as long as you like the idea of maraschino cherry-like sweetness. Habit Rouge Eau de Toilette is VERY old-school. I think it was dated when it was released in '65.

The ultimate deciding factor is which one smells right for you... I don't care about being "dated" I think that HR smells wonderful.

I was just about to ask that. I'm not in a position to, you know, "just buy it", so I think, providing HR doesn't smell as "dated" and old as people say, I would be better off with it. I'm definitely more excited of Lhomme Ideal, and I really want to smell it in all it's cherry glory, but 50ml is just not worth it when HR is the same price, but 110ml instead, and it even comes with free shampoo! I don't know, how is the smell? Is there rose in it like the notes suggest?

Habit Rouge is mostly citrus/floral/oakmoss to my nose. Dunno if I can pick out rose specifically. Quite powdery and soapy with a tiny bit of sweetness. Definitely not a gourmand vanilla.

Personally even though I do get why people say HR feels "dated" I dont really get that from the edp. Id look for that on a discount and try to smell in stores

L'Homme Ideal is definitely more mass appealing. It's a sweet masculine scent, in a similar vein to Dior Homme Intense (2011) but with almond instead of iris, and a much fresher opening.

Habit Rouge on the other hand is powdery, ambery and a touch leathery that some will find dated, but it would be my personal pick over L'Homme Ideal any day, and I love L'Homme Ideal.

I say go for the Guerlain. I love L’Homme ideal. My husband got it and it smells spectacular on him and I’ve snuck a spray before.
