Spa visit far too short
Bloomy Heaven was the first fragrance from Douglas, a women's fragrance, that I tried and it surprised me positively. Not a masterpiece, but a very solid citrus fragrance for women that left me wanting more. So when I saw the Land of Vasta tester in the store, I wanted to try it out (although the nice but highly unspectacular and also only averagely finished bottle didn't look particularly inviting).
When sprayed on, pure citrus spreads. A strong, sour orange, but incredibly delicious! After a while, the citrus becomes weaker, but a light fruitiness is added. The fragrance remains good. As it progresses, the very aromatic woods come through (which are also the only ones listed).
Land of Vasta is truly not complex and is reminiscent of Acqua di Parma's citrus fragrances in its simplicity, which is nevertheless impeccably crafted. If Land of Vasta had been released by the Italians (under a different name, of course) - it would have fitted the profile well.
The only thing you can criticize it for (and in which it actually differs from AdP) is the quality of the ingredients. The fact that this Douglas fragrance can be purchased for less than €30 per 100 ml is ultimately noticeable. It is not disturbing, but it lacks the breadth of natural ingredients; you can almost smell that it is just an amalgam of individual, synthetically produced fragrance molecules. However, it is quite successful.
Thanks to its refreshing effervescence, the fragrance is ideal for everyday wear and for leisure, but I also imagine it to be pleasant during sport.
Unpleasant: The sillage starts off solidly, but then drops off after just 1½ hours. After a ridiculous 2½ hours, the fragrance is only skin-deep.
Yes, we are on the edge of the lower 2-digit price range for 100 ml, but it can be a little more, right? Nobody wants to carry the bottle around with them all the time to spray it again because the fragrance has failed again.
