Interesting Facts

The founder of 19-69, Nineteen Sixty Nine, is Swedish product developer and artist Johan Bergelin. In 2017, the brand released its first five fragrances.

The perfumes from 19-69 are dedicated to different continents such as America, Asia, Europe, and Africa, as well as cultural influences from various eras. The brand's products are deliberately designed to be gender-neutral and can therefore be worn by everyone.

Some of the creative noses behind the fragrances are Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Dario Volpones, and Amélie Bourgeois, who created the Capri fragrance, among others. In 2021, 19-69 began a collaboration with the fashion label Palm Angels, which resulted in further fragrances.

The glass bottles, lacquered and screen-printed in Italy, are presented in simple, minimalist packaging. Each fragrance comes with a printed version of the fragrance journey as a short booklet that tells the story behind the inspiration for the fragrance.

The different colored bottles symbolize a rainbow, which was a symbol of peace and freedom in the 1960s and is still understood as such today.

In this way, Nineteen Sixty Nine wants to convey its own values such as freedom, tolerance, and counterculture. Meaningful art and music play an important role in the brand's product design.
