Sunlight in a Bottle...
Capri is an interesting fragrance and one that transforms far more than I thought it would.

It begins super fresh with a blast of citrus - kinda like you've just peeled an orange and you got the juice literally everywhere - your clothes, fingers, the countertop. Very realistic but not akin to floor cleaner.

The mid is where this fragrance really shines. Let it dry on your skin in the sun. Let it heat up. It becomes a bouquet of rich florals peppered with herbs and a touch of cardamom. Then in the dry down, the remnants of sweet amber and musk. It's truly a journey, best taken in the heat of the summer.

For a fresh citrus, this lasts quite a while on me - I've had it last all day and been able to catch whiffs of it even at the end. It's also quite strong, so an overall great performer.

Body cream luxe
Very interesting aroma, creamy citruses. At the beginning it is an orange with a peel, very realistic. Then the aroma transforms into the smell of a body cream, which is very pleasant. There is a very gentle shade of soap. I don't like persistent fragrances, but there is no persistence here at all, they need to be watered. For me, it's more Cologne than Eau de Parfum. Too bad it's very expensive for us.

Bright and sunny with lots of Ambroxan
This is another perfect summer perfume - it's bright and sunny and takes you on a stroll through an orangerie. Lush, sweet, floral with a hint of tart grapefruit and a quick zing of pepper. From there the florals take charge, flanked by gloriously green galbanum. The base is a soft musk, but the Ambroxan is definitely prominent, I like Ambroxan, so not an issue for me.

Another Year with nothing to do
Looking at the song lyrics that include 1969, one might get the impression that it was a long, hot summer (similar to the one that has already begun) - one that encompasses beautiful memories (those were the best days of my life) or one that brought a certain emptiness and confusion, the beginnings of punk (another year with nothing to do). But also Woodstock, the moon landing, freedom, boundlessness, rebellion. For Johan Bergelin, the founder of the brand 19-69, an era of freedom, tolerance, and counterculture.

"Capri" from this rather diverse fragrance journey conveys the image of summer; the accompanying text sheet describes a drive through blooming orange groves, more specifically through the surroundings of Villa Malaparte on Capri, a property on a small, protruding rock in the sea, which is considered the most beautiful house in the world and served as the setting for Jean-Luc Godard's film "Contempt." The small text also refers to the convertible scene from the film, to Brigitte Bardot and the wind in her hair, while out in the sea lies Onassis's yacht, where idleness is indulged and cool drinks are served.

The scent corresponds to this image, although it comes across as light and cheerful, the heaviness that is also shown in the tensions of the couple in the film, as well as the bitterness that is also a trait of this impressive house, is only subtly hinted at in the bitter orange aromas.

A beautiful start with orange blossoms and a hint of almond, well-balanced unisex, in my opinion, and underlaid with dry herbs as I imagine them smelling in such a rocky area by the sea, aromatic and sun-heated. The fragrance radiates lightness, a feeling like a flying scarf in the wind as the convertible rounds the bend, flowing hair, brightness, shimmering sun. A truly beautiful summer scent, light and a bit soothing, connected to the earth and the sky.

The only downside for me is the longevity - at the current temperatures around 30 degrees, it would be ideal, but my skin seems to be thirsty and consumes the beautiful, bright, citrus scents in no time, leaving only a faint trace, and that is too little for me.

I do like the bottle, though; it is beautifully simple and fits well in the hand - the color of the fragrance is wonderfully captured, a deep, rich yellow-orange of ripe oranges and setting sun.

Now I am curious about the other fragrances of this eventful year!

Wrong Time for the Bitter Summer Dream
My still young devotion to perfume flickered in the autumn. Since then, I have tested many fragrances. Most of them are rather suited for the cold seasons.
Capri, however, has consciously found its way into my collection. The notes sounded so exciting, and I wanted to bring the next summer home.

My first impression of Capri was not so good at all. Refreshing wipe. It was an icy cold day.

After a few weeks, I tested the fragrance again - and it was all over for me.
Grated orange peel including a bit of the white pith. Unsweet. Bitter. Zesty grapefruit and a hint of dry spices. Green. The juniper and cardamom are present.
The scent is incredibly cool and yet cheerful. Incredibly stylish. Vacation - but not in the tropics. The name is a perfect choice.

On the skin, Capri becomes creamier after a while; warmth can be sensed. The flowers frame its development. Freshness remains intact.

For these notes, the longevity is above average, though not outstanding.

A fragrance that unites summer, carefreeness, and style. Refreshing, but not a refreshing wipe. Dreamy!

The most citrus heavy, leafiest opening I've ever experienced. Truly spectacular. Unfortunately the opening and scent in general is fleeting

Bright and fresh. Has a bitterness to it, which I quite enjoy. However, overall a bit too 'citrusy' for my liking.

Logically, I'm not here
Dull citrus, pleasant
Changes over time
With too much musk
Into the ordinary
For a short while.

Authentic orange pulp scent meets a spicy base and transports you to the beach: towel with sunscreen and popsicle.

One of the freshest, coolest, and most pleasant citrus scents I've ever encountered. Not sweet, harmonious, excellent.

A drive in a convertible through orange and almond groves, the wind in my hair and lightness in my soul. Nothing to do but enjoy life.
