mossy woody forest vibes
about: 30s, introverted, nonbinary (perceived fem), working in patient care
source: direct purchase
year: 2025 (3 weeks' rest)
price: $20 for 5mL
current season: summer, evening
priming method: none
hydration level: good
in the imp: green, with an herbal/foresty feel. theres a lot of notes i dont recognize in this (just like big sur) but the general first impression is very (kermit and christian bale nodding) thats green all right
wet: green, damp, mossy, almost spicy. not exactly earthy, but definitely woody. smells a bit like herbs at the grocery store, but only at first ‑‑ then it's an herb garden being cultivated in the middle of a forest and overrun by ferns and moss. alkemia is fucking on POINT when it comes to precise atmospherics, im learning. im not getting much honeysuckle, but im ok with that. this is pretty freaking amazing, and im not even really a green/moss/forest person. like im literally 6 minutes in and i havent stopped sniffing my arm for a moment. fml this is going to be a fullsize isnt it. i dont think anyone else at the clinic will love this but i do not care.
30 min in: astonishingly, this isnt even dry yet. it's ridiculous considering i scrubbed my arm with four (4) alcohol pads trying to get rid of jhag's not a perfume and then put on only three (3) little dabs of aelfscyne, figuring it wouldnt last and i would at least get a chance to preview the scent before it vanished. wrong! it's literally still wet lol
1 hour in: finally dry. giving exactly the same vibes as earlier -- not that this scent is boring! but its fairly linear and not changing very much from the original wet application and as someone who loved it when wet, that is GREAT news.
2 hours in: less green now, more grounded, but overall this scent has barely morphed. it's beautifully blended. i wouldnt necessarily consider this an office-friendly scent as it's somewhat unconventional for everyday palates, but i would still consider wearing this to clinic anyway because bite me, thats why.
3-4 hours in: skin-scent intensity. i can pick up on the remnants of the scent -- it does seem a little muted/faded, but it hasnt lost very much of its initial character. again, a relatively linear scent.
6 hours in: ok, yeah, im a little bored of it now after 6 hours. but wow. this truly was an incredible scent and im looking forward to being just as enchanted by it the next time around.
verdict: keep
gender impression: unisex
office-friendly: debatable
full-size candidate: yes
