not a maiden wreath, rather the awakening mother earth
"We'll wind you a maiden's wreath. From violet-blue silk."
Of course, the charming scene from Carl Maria von Weber's opera "Der Freischütz" immediately comes to mind.
But I must confess: I always see the small, blue flowers of forget-me-nots in the aforementioned maiden's wreath - nothing to do with violets here.

Violets in general: As a child, violets smelled like grandma's flower soap to me and how disappointed I was when I then encountered their earthy, slightly woody scent.
It was only much later that I realized that I was chasing a beautiful dream:
Violets, blooming so early in the year, probably still carry the darkness in which Mother Earth has spent the last few months.
For me, "Crown of Violets" by Alkemia also smells rather earthy before it takes me by the hand, surrounded by flowers and spicy greenery.
Lavender blossoms with braided scoops next to fields of irises covered in purple, white and blue are reminiscent of sun-drenched Tuscany.
Cardamom and dost, the herb of love and youth with the fine aromas of oregano and Cretan wildflowers, stand guard.
The fragrance comes full circle with vetiver and oakmoss, which are reminiscent of the classic fragrance base, just like sandalwood:
What would such an earthy creation be without its strong personality?
A bit of tonka bean sweetness, a bit of amber resin smoke and the silky woody aroma of cedar - all of this comes together harmoniously, woven into a crown of violets and the accompanying fragrant green court.

In "Crown of Violets", spicy spring greets us in fresh green and entices us to listen more closely.

Because the sounds of nature can also be found in this creation, like the birdsong that accompanies the awakening greenery.
This fragrance radiates a little earthiness and a lot of security; the hope of: "Let there be ...!"
And that's precisely why I like it so much.

A fresh, sharp green floral overlays sweet white musk. Strong, scratchy aldehydic opening. Pickley sandalwood comes through strong on me :(
