The first unisex
Always modern, this musky fragrance is nowadays a cult. It' s intense, quite well balanced and longlasting at an affordable price. On my skin I don't smell so much the flowery top notes, but mainly the heart notes and the musky base, which gives the unisex touch to this particular scent. Perfect to wear everyday in autumn-winter, it can be used by night too in spring-summer for a particular mysterious touch

Keep it simple
…And that is exactly what Alyssa Ashley Musk does. Beautiful and comforting - not much ado. When the notes are as well mixed as in this one, I am a fan.
This was the smell of my best friend’s older sister. I admired her clogs on heels and box pants together with her denim jacket and blue eye shadow. Wow, did she look good when going to the local youth disco. She was the ‘Dancing Queen’ in real life. And she smelled so good.
Today I think the scent is still worth a go. For me it is a journey back in time, but to others it may be the love of their life - who knows?

Very light and pleasant
This Unisex vintage formulation is very pleasant yet very unoffensive and unobtrusive. Lot's of things were changing in 1969, especially when it came to society and the things that surrounded it. Life was being made to be simpler and that carried over to everything regarding what we wore right down to what we ate. This fragrance epitomizes that topic. It's fragrant, light and just plain awesome smelling. The longevity is decent and can be had for not very much money. Alyssa Ashley/Houbigant put out a very high quality scent that held it's own right up until the Butchers of Scent, Dana, took the reigns years later. Sorry I won't waste my time so I'll keep my Vintages thank u very much.

Musk = Me and Mom
I have no idea how old I was when I started wearing this scent. Maybe 14 or 15. Exclusively this scent. Twice a year, I received it as a gift from my mom. For my birthday and for St. Nicholas. Sometimes it was the Edp, sometimes the Edt, or even the oil. My mother didn’t really know much about fragrances, and neither did I. So it didn’t matter to me which version of this scent ended up on the gift table.

I’m also quite sure that I wore this scent only for myself. Because over all those years, no one ever commented on how good I smelled or if I smelled at all. The scent simply belonged to me, like brushing my teeth every day.

I apologize to anyone who might be hoping for a more detailed explanation of this scent. I’ve had the chance to test many fragrances here, even big brands like Roja, etc. To be honest, I haven’t learned much. To this day, I can’t analyze scents or recognize every single note. For me, it’s always about the overall impression, so whether it’s nice or not nice.

My mother has not been alive for exactly 20 years, and since I’m not having a good time at the moment, the loss is painfully apparent to me again. When I wear this scent, many beautiful memories come flooding back, and if a fragrance can evoke such feelings, it is perfect in that moment.

Thank you again, dear Sabi, for reminding me of this soul-soother :)!

Marathon-Musk
Musk is a "special" and sometimes tricky scent. I have experienced that it often comes across as very sweet and soapy, and I generally only like it when it doesn't arrive with these characteristics in tow.

However, I am always curious when the topic of "Musk" is on the agenda. Especially when it is not a new scent, but an established one.

Thanks to Yatagan, I have come into possession of a sample of this unknown fragrance. Unknown? At least I thought so, because right after applying it, I felt like I was transported back to my childhood via a time capsule. "Musk" is exactly the scent that my favorite aunt always wore. I had forgotten about it until now, but now I feel as if she is here in the room with me.

1:0 for "Musk," the emotional entry is already a success!

But the joy doesn't last long. Too floral, too sweet, and slightly soapy, "Musk" now envelops me almost overwhelmingly. I can only perceive the floral top notes (especially jasmine and violet) and the soapy note in the form of musk. The heart notes... skipped, not noticed? That can't be right!

And so I turn a bit disappointed to other things, pushing aside the present sweet smell. Only after about 2 hours do I become aware of "Musk" again, as a real pleasant scent rises to my nose: primarily iris and moss (both very soft and fine) paired with one of the best musk notes (finally unsweetened and unsoapy).

Yes, that's how it should be! Now my newly discovered memories and this scent match 100%.

Still, I give it a total of "only" 70%, because the journey to the fragrance experience was simply too long for a "simple" scent like this. Admittedly, the wait is definitely worth it in the end, as you are rewarded with a truly expressive, warm, and soft fragrance.

I won't buy it, but I will keep the sample safe to occasionally dive back into my childhood ;-)

A pleasant fragrance that's floral in scent but not very musky overall

Nicest musk ever. Everyone I've met has stated on the 'lovely smell'. The white musk par excellence, a perfume with a strong erotic appeal.

Sticks close to the skin. It has a slight powdery, soapy smell upon dry down. I put this on after showers.

Musk legend.
Pleasantly spicy, slightly woody, nicely mossy.
The flowers are soft and powdery.
Animalic, beautifully cuddly.
Fresh and sexy.*

It doesn't get more 70s than this. Oscillates between floral-soapy and animalistic. You need a taste for vintage perfumery and musk.

The EDP is super beautiful. It reminds me of Jovan Musk Oil - the old version. A sensual, soft musk scent. Intimate.

Typical late 60s / early 70s aldehydic-clean soap scent. Cool gray, a bit distant, "chanelling." Amazing on the right person.

Annoying sexual attractant from the sixties. Nostalgia bonus.

M disrupts my mental connection of "musk = light + clean + subtle." Untamed powdery-woody violet soap with a nostalgic flair.
