Treated like a stepchild
So, this can't be true. After all the Carolina Herrera hype, not a single review has come out for this fragrance? Not one?
Admittedly, I am not the biggest fan of the fragrance line with the high heels; to me, they all smell a bit mundane, something I've smelled before, can, but doesn't have to, rather headache candidates.
It's different with this little gem here. After the reformulation in 2017, it seems they missed the chance to market the fragrance properly. Before that, the scent was probably more of a pleasing floral designer perfume, with praline in it (?) and not particularly .. special.
That has completely changed now. Although I would actually identify myself as a lover of creamy, woody scents, I took a blind buy with this fragrance because it was so highly praised by a friend who is a perfume enthusiast.
The fragrance absolutely convinced me and is the first freshie that really caught my attention. It opens with citrus fruits, and the pepper tickles the nose. Floral notes are hardly noticeable. What convinced me about the fragrance is what comes immediately after. A strong green tea note, paired with a light jasmine aroma. It smells like iced tea served with a splash of lemon. The tea is clear and completely unsweetened. I am not a real expert when it comes to tea scents, and I can imagine that there are even more complex and niche fragrances than this one, but I appreciate it simply for its straightforwardness.
I could imagine such a fragrance from Goldfield & Banks, only this one is available for a fraction of the price.
A really nice scent for hot days when the sun is beating down on sweaty skin and you want a refreshment that is not aquatic or floral. You may stay, little freshie.
