Tobacco beauty
This beauty is a tobacco-centred perfume that smells quite sweet and spicy, softened by a seductive aroma of exotic flowers. The tobacco note is not only the smell of cigarettes here, it's also a rich smell of an aromatic tobacco plant with its flowers and leaves. Beautiful rare thing that deserves to be on a niche shelf and I can definitely recommend it to those who are looking for a note of tobacco in fragrances.

Summer 1997
She was an outstanding tennis player in her hometown and had once again won the club championships. For the third year in a row. But this year, the winner's trophy was secondary, as she only had eyes for him. He had reached the finals in the men's category. He was new to the club, appeared exotic, and was very handsome. She made an effort to get to know him. However, she was of course not the only one in town and here at the tennis club who was vying for his attention. Others, who played tennis less well and passionately than she did, were also trying to catch his eye. But they were much better at putting themselves in the spotlight.

In the end, none of the village girls got him. He moved away as quickly as he had come. To the Caribbean, to take a job in his new position. What a dream! She only received a postcard from him, promising to play tennis with her again soon, which she kept for many years.

One of her favorite scents that hot summer was Havana by Aramis. A lightly aquatic fragrance with apple, peach, freesia, and rose. Aquatic scents had never been her preferred choice, not even back then, but the cool fragrance, enveloped by soft notes like heliotrope, honey, and tonka bean, was wonderfully fitting on those warm days. The melon didn't bother her here, as it was, unlike the also very trendy New West at the time, not perceivable in that sense. Despite its aquatic, rather fresh base character, Havana pour Elle always offered a bit of warmth, just as she loved in her fragrances. In the base, it also revealed a hint of vanilla for cuddling, but this remained discreetly in the background. After every match or practice game, she applied it after her shower. And the scent was not only pleasing to her but also to many of her sports colleagues, especially the gentlemen. Even he had noticed it. After a game at the facility in the neighboring town, which they attended as spectators in a group, he gave her a ride back in his car and complimented her on her beautiful perfume, confessing that he liked it. She had applied it that day many hours earlier in the morning, and the delicate-fresh, soft scent was still very noticeable in the late afternoon.

Today, she thinks of that summer and him when she remembers this fragrance. But she is not sad, as it was a beautiful time filled with many wonderful memories and, moreover, a charming perfume. And shortly after that - in the autumn of that year - she found her life partner. With a different fragrance. Tennis, on the other hand, has not interested her for a long time. Oh, and the postcard was thrown in the trash in 2004.

Everything in Its Time
Directly after application, the human nose is overwhelmed by synthetic and sticky sweet scent accords. But: After a few minutes, Ylang-Ylang and freesias fight their way past roses and through the overly sweet fruit of the top notes. What remains is a wonderful feeling of summer and lightness. When honey and vanilla then reveal themselves with tonka bean and cedar, one might already detect masculine traits in the fragrance.

When I think of Havana and Cuba, I feel summer, heat, and the ease of enjoying each day and living in the moment. However, if you find yourself in Havana in the height of summer, you experience a city that overwhelms you with intense heat and impressions until you eventually regain your composure and adapt to the rhythm of the city. Havana and Cuba are places I like to think of when it’s cold, wet, and dreary here.

It’s exactly the same with “Havana pour elle.” Worn in the height of summer, it overwhelms anyone who has to endure it spontaneously. But in autumn and winter, it makes anyone who smells it dream of summer, sunshine, and pure joy of life.

Lauder sees only fruit, flowers, and a bit of aquatic in Havana. Synthetic until Fidel arrives. One of the first mega - fruity florals.

Warm summer night, colorful festival,
music that makes me dance.
Rhythm in my blood, flowers in my hair,
that's all Havana!

Sweet fruits and strong, sweet-floral spice. Melon and apple hit you first, then you're buried under the flowers, honey drips on top.

Unique combination of sweet flowers and woody herbs. Underneath, a slightly metallic, almost cool note. "Alien-like" dominance.

Initially very sweet, then lovely-floral. I miss a counterbalance. Also no tobacco leaf, even though the name and bottle cap suggested it.
