			Take Two or Leave It

Aramis is a really great macho scent from the 70s. Wearing it again today is already cool in itself. But does it need a "Cool Blend?"
Cool Blend is a terrible example of how a well-known perfume brand chases current trends and, at least artistically, falls flat on its face. Cool Blend is the only moderately successful version of an Aramis sport fragrance.
The scent starts - as you might expect - with a synthetic, fresh citrus note. It feels just as thin as in other current sport fragrances, but on the other hand, it also clings just as long. Soon, a very sweet, creamy musk note joins in. There can be nothing worse in a men's perfume. In such an environment, the leather present in the base is also a complicated matter. The fact that this scent is still somewhat bearable is due to the apparent addition of a splash of original Aramis. With its masculine herbaceousness, the sage, and whatever else might be in it, it saves this perfume and improves it considerably. Still: At times it smells only of Nimm 2 candies. Then again, the sweetness of the musk breaks through. The citrus freshness note lingers well into the dry down. I really don't like it. I feel queasy when I have it around me for a longer time.
After the successful re-release of the Aramis traditional scents Devon, Etruscan/Tuscany, etc., this latest creation is more of a disappointment for me, but probably a result of current trends. If we're going for summery-sporty, then it should rather be the spectacular and successful New West from the 90s!
