her oriental dream
Princess Blanche has a dream: She longs to experience the Orient.
And so she sets off from her home in Ferrara: Her bright hair covered with a scarf, her delicate skin protected from the sun, wind, water, and sand by a beautiful kaftan.
She learns much on this journey; many things delight her, but the vast valley of roses, which is to be the destination of her journey, captures her heart in an instant: As far as she can see, there are roses!
Fragrant roses at different stages of ripeness, caressing the senses with their rich, full, and spicy aromas, awakening entirely foreign, so unfamiliar feelings within her.
Where does this sudden longing come from?
She is confused; whom can she ask?
The foreign women of her small entourage, enveloped in a spicy-sweet scent of saffron and heliotrope?
Would they understand her so unfamiliar longing?
Could they explain it to her?
The heliotrope warmth surrounding her and her small group of companions, scented with fine yet light vanilla, fills her with every breath.
Patchouli's heavy earth seems to waft around her, moist, golden-brown, and fertile.
Is this the Orient she hoped to find in her dream?
A palpably rosy-woody, slightly animalic scent of dark oud in the "Now"; foreign yet almost painfully familiar.
Delicate resinous amber smoke clouds surround her, carrying her away.
Where to?
It is well known by now that I particularly appreciate the rare fragrances from the brand "Il Profumiere - Massimiliano Torti."
They regularly transport me to special and enchanting scent islands, where I enjoy my stay every time.
"Princess Blanche" suggests a bright, femininely spun fragrance; but the pyramid teaches us otherwise:
A rose-oud of exceptional elegance and quality develops spicy and warm, blooming into a woody-sensual beauty that surprises and fascinates.
No loud notes, no dirty thoughts - only harmony and a distant longing touch the senses with fragrance: Italian style, indeed!
As always, the sillage and longevity are extraordinary; this fragrant journey does not end quickly.
Like in a kaleidoscope, the fragrance notes transform into an oriental whole; they dance around each other, intertwining and lovingly entwining, dissolving: finding themselves again in ever new patterns.
Yet they always meet in complete harmony, as one would expect from the great fragrance magician Massimiliano Torti; he does not disappoint me with this creation either.
Every radiant mosaic piece fits into this fragrant artwork.
"Princess Blanche" is enchanting in a very special way and has captivated me this evening.
I will accompany her on her journey a little longer.
