Satin? Leather? Who knows!
What a confusing scent. The name and the notes made me expect something soft, smooth and calm. The actual fragrance is anything but that!

Neither does it evoke satin in any way, nor am I able to detect chamomile. My main reference points for chamomile are the humble 90s classic Cerruti 1881 and the tea you drink when you're sick, so maybe I'm not exactly an expert on this flower, but still... The other florals in this don't stand out much either.

Instead I get a blast of rough, almost animalic leather, mixed with sweet vanilla. It must be the galbanum and maybe the musk, as all the other notes sound so light and flowery. When I first tried this I was shocked and thought maybe I got the wrong sample, but after a few more tests I kind of get how a scent with these notes can smell like this.
After the leather has calmed down, I can actually detect a powdery lavender and a slight hint of rose. And vanilla is definitely noticeable all through the scent. They just all get stomped by an aggressive blend of harsh musks and bitter galbanum that read as leather to my nose.

After getting used to it and letting it dry down a bit, it's not a bad scent. The opening is overwhelming, but the drydown is a nice, femine take on leather. Still not what I hoped for, and ultimately not for me, as I only like leather fragrances when they smell smooth and ladylike right from the start.
But I'm sure it's great for someone out there. Just don't let the presentation fool you!

Deeply relaxing
This has been on my wish-list for 6 months and I just had to buy it. The scent is absolutely to die for. It’s 100% unisex. I find this scent so soothing, relaxing and comforting, especially in times of high stress. It’s very grounding. Of course the bottle is stunning. I do like that you can refill this, and once you have the bottle the refills do actually work out cheaper. I still think it’s extortionate, but in today’s money I guess this is just an average price for a high quality scent. This is a fragrance I use mainly just for me to relax and unwind.

I never realised until now, but this actually reminds me of my Dad. I guess this is why this scent is so special for me. He worked as a senior British Airways pilot and this reminds me of how he used to smell when he’d come home from a long haul flight, in his uniform, and would give me a big hug. In the 80’s up to early 2000’s, British Airways used to give passengers in club and business class, a toiletry bag with a rollerball fragrance. Camomille Satin reminds me of that scent. My Dad may no longer be living, but this fragrance keeps him close to me. I can’t not have this in my collection. It’s truly beautiful and one I will treasure.

Amazingly calming, chic Vanilla scent
I want to say some words more about this beautiful perfume before I will buy a full bottle of it. I just finished my sample. I have worn this something like 12-15 times for now.

First of all this scent is harmonious in a calming way. Aromatic Lavender, which is a difficult note for me, is pleasant and suitably soft and delicate and the other difficult note, herbal chamomile, is also gentle, refined, and not at all aggressive and dominating, which it can be in many fragrances. A few fragrances where I like lavender are Alexandria III , Après L'Ondée Eau de Toilette , Libre Eau de Parfum and a few where I like Chamomile are Soleil de Jeddah, Soleil de Jeddah Afterglow and Risqué Parfum. I don't like lavender for example in the opening of Musc Ravageur Eau de Parfum and I don't like Chamomile in Soleil de Jeddah Mango Kiss .

Both Lavender and Chamomile get their satiny softness from Vanilla, which is clearly the main character of this scent. Camomille Satin is definitely an herbal vanilla scent. Petigrain is conveniently hidden, as I find it easily makes the scent sharp by introducing an uncomfortable green citrus aroma. Orange Blossom is also very mild and Rose is more of a support for the structure and tying the notes together than giving the scent of petals. Musk finishes the scent off as sensual and elegant, but comforting, relaxing and cozy. It's special that this fragrance has many notes, which can be sharp, challenging, or bitter, but all have been successfully finished to be silky soft and gentle, including Galbanum. It's slightly creamy with a powdery finish, but not too thick and not heavy at all. That's why it's suitable also for summertime, especially for summer evenings. I think the scent is unisex.

The scent is simple, there's nothing shockingly special about it, but it still has a unique feel to it. The scent is more suitable for home and leisure, as it doesn't provide energy for work, for example. On the other hand, it has a clearly calming effect, which I would imagine would be suitable for a psychiatrist's work. The scent is quite intimate, although long-lasting, and therefore suitable for that kind of work environment.

Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review.

A scented lullaby.
It's the most beautiful herbal, musky vanilla. Although it would be misleading to call it a vanilla fragrance. Vanilla here acts as a mediator between aromatic components, blending it all together into a single, coherent lullaby.

The chamomile here is light and airy, ever so slightly green and never reaching its full tea bag earthiness. And it pairs exceptionally with the lavender, the blending being so good that I can't really find the seams hard as I try. It's as if chamomile morphs into lavender as you're looking for it, and then back into chamomile when your attention shifts. The vanilla behaves similarly with the gentle musk, both being omnipresent and somehow transparent at the same time. It took me a few wears to understand what it's about, but once I did I really fell for it. It's intensely comforting.

I was a bit anxious about the performance. The projection is more on the intimate side, I think. But where it really surprised me was the longevity. I sprayed it late in the evening, before bed, and when I woke up around 9 hours later, it was still there. Faitly, but still.

A witch's cabin in a sunny winter evening
Camomille satin is not about the camomille, or the satin, or even the vainilla. This is an alluring aromatic-herbal mixed with a sweet-smoky woods.

It is quite linear, which I appreciate, since when a scent is nice there is no need to make it change or evolve.

So, this one is simple but works. It smells like a wood clean cabin in the middle of the forest. The interior is warm and the sunny enters trough the windows, making the golden particles of dust visible.

Inside, the cabin is filled with aromatic and medicinal herbs. Lavender is quite noticeable here, making the perfume perfectly unisex.

The vanilla is not sugary or utterly sweet, is quite smoky, deep, velvety.

This perfume is cozy and warm, like a wool blanket. It can be overwhelming in hot weather, but is perfect for winter and autumn.

Not the most impressive fragrance out there, but very well made, a comfort fragrance in one of the prettiest bottle I have ever since.

Absolutely beautiful, smooth, calming Vanilla. Normally I don't like herbal aroma but it's amazingly chic + subtle here. Full bottle worthy.

A camomille field after a flock of sheep peed and took a shit on it. Cloying dirty musk. Oh and the camomille? Nowhere, the sheep ate it.

Herbal vanilla. Does have that soothing chamomile quality to it, but unfortunately does come across a tad medicinal to me.

Light and aromatic, Camomille Satin opens with soothing lavender and unfolds into a warm, spicy vanilla base. A fragrance that evolves!

Not a floral on my skin. Opening is bitter, medicinal herbal ointment and suede, slowly sweetening over time with creamy vanilla.

Extremely elegant, well rounded scent, not sweet, stays very close to the skin. Unfortunately the performance is not reflecting the price.

Herbal vanilla and leather. Perhaps fresh camomille flower is different from the scent of the chamomile tea that I was expecting.

Incredibly lovely herbal vanilla. Nothing harsh about it. Comforting and cozy. Smells just like the name sounds.
