Vacation Dreams in the Office
Nameless by Mark Buxton is a modern, aquatic cologne, subtle and understated.
The fragrance pyramid is impressive, with coffee and cinnamon said to be included. This suggests opulent gourmands, but nothing could be further from the truth with this perfume. It is quite fresh. Unfortunately, it has a certain resemblance to inexpensive counterparts from the designer fragrance corner. However, it is not as scratchy as some of those.
I briefly catch a whiff of cinnamon in a very fresh environment, along with woods and something slightly sweet and musky, which gives this light scent a certain presence. Otherwise, I can't pick out anything else; everything is well integrated into this restraint. In the drydown, Nameless transforms into a bright spicy scent.
But unfortunately, nomen est omen. For my taste, it's all too nameless, a woody aquatic like many others. The beautiful image on the website, which compares this scent to a view of the sailboats on Lake Como, doesn't help. This is about work, not vacation. A work scent was needed, something fresh please! The quality seems okay, but what good is that? Who has the time in the office to linger over fine nuances? After a long consideration to discover that this scent wasn't even purchased at Douglas?
Perhaps I am being a bit harsh here, but I generally do not like the aquatic fragrance direction, nor bright spicy scents. Nameless is simply too typical for me to make an exception.
