Cotton candy, rose, and almond, brilliantly put together
Your Wish is My Command is a Dua original from late 2020 and one of the most inventive, interesting concepts that has been released in the past couple of years. It combines cotton candy, rose, and bitter almond with a slight metallic quality to yield something quite special, slightly sweet, nutty, and sharp, but with a very measured amount of rose. Somehow it all fits together quite well and I’ve really not smelled anything quite like it. Even the more cotton candy-intensive Cotton Candy de Dua, a later release, does not have a ton of overlap with YWIMC, which I regard as a bit subtler than CCDD. The cotton candy aspect is nevertheless the most striking aspect of YWIMC, yet the rose and almond are very clear when I stop and think about it. It’s not a gourmand per se, but a cotton-candy-led blend that does land sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet.
Note-wise, it seems like more of a cold-weather, perhaps date/evening scent but it’s so well-blended that it can even work in a bit of heat or during the daytime, even it’s just a wee bit provocative for some people’s comfort at the office. But I’m enjoying it plenty on a workday from home in the summer.
It has standard Dua pricing of $65 for 30ml, always with a discount available, and performs quite well, as most Duas do.
