Tea, tea, tea, and the feeling of happiness rises!
Vanithé by Nez à Nez is a tea fragrance. And where there is a tea fragrance, I am usually not far away! Yay! After a long time, I finally get to try a tea fragrance again, and the best part is that there are not just one but two tea notes in it, which makes the anticipation even greater.

So first, I brew myself a tea; I think I'll go for rooibos this time. Then I kick my cat out of my room. I know, that sounds harsh, but right now he is very clingy and loves to lounge on my table. I don't mind; I actually like it, but sometimes his tail whips around so much that he accidentally dips the tip of it ever so slightly into my cup, making my tea full of cat hair… yuck… :D

Especially now, when my table is already crowded, as my Christmas tree is still sitting on it (now that Christmas is over, I really should put it away…). And every time Mr. Cat (his real name is Haydut, which means rogue in Turkish) brushes against the tree, a third of the decorations falls off… *sigh*

Anyway, back to the fragrance. Tea, tea, tea, I can hardly wait!

The scent:
Right from the start, I smell delicious black tea with a hint of lemon in it, which is probably the verbena. It smells fresh, even though it’s not really refreshing. While I’m unsure about the verbena, I can definitely say that the rosemary is quite noticeable. And it fits well with the tea scent, even though rosemary usually has a rather strong, herbaceous aroma.
Over time, a nice sweetness from honey emerges, which also slightly reminds me of amber. I’m a bit uncertain about the jasmine tea, as the Earl Grey or black tea is more prominent.
In the background, you can smell soft, woody notes. Here, the guaiac wood is more pronounced than the cedar, which you can only recognize if you see that it is listed in the fragrance pyramid.
Even in the base, the tea scent remains (though unfortunately quite weak). The main notes of the base are still (amber-like) honey and a bit of tonka bean. The vanilla is surprisingly weak.

The sillage and longevity:
The projection of the fragrance is rather moderate and weakens a bit over time. On the skin, it always smells nice, but unfortunately, you don’t leave a real scent trail with this fragrance.
The longevity is actually good, but it seems a bit less lasting because the sillage is weaker in the later hours. But generally, I would expect it to last from eight to ten hours.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with rounded corners and edges, filled with a yellowish fragrance liquid. There is no label; the name of the fragrance (as well as the brand) is printed directly on the bottle. The thin neck is cylindrical and gold-plated, and the similarly thin and cylindrical cap sits on top. A bit simple, but nicely done.

Sooo,…
You probably guessed it; the fragrance is definitely my thing, right? If so, you're right. I actually really liked Vanithé, not just because it contains tea, but because the overall composition is simply right. Sure, the fragrance could have been a tad stronger in terms of sillage, but I’m glad it’s not too close to the skin.

The fragrance exudes an aura of calm and serenity and is very suitable for relaxing, or chilling, as one might say :D
Of course, you can also wear the fragrance daily, for example, at work or just to smell good (or as I said, to radiate an aura of calm). It’s just a bit weak for going out, but maybe you can spray it on more often.
Anyway, it is gentle, beautiful, and although it leans a bit towards spring and summer, I think it works well as an all-rounder.

The only downside is: The fragrance is once again a scent for you silly ladies *sigh*
On the other hand,… White Tea by Elizabeth Arden is also a women’s fragrance that is now in my possession. Maybe I can use this fragrance for myself someday :D

So… the review is finished, just like my tea. It’s time to bring back the scratching beast, who will of course stick his face into the empty cup, so that I’ll have to use a new cup for any potential new tea… *sigh* :DD

I wish you a lovely evening (and I’m going to get a new cup of tea, because we still have cookies from all the holidays that go wonderfully with tea, yay!)

A Forgotten Tea Delight
Sometimes, thanks to kind people, you come across samples of fragrances that hardly get any attention.
Vanithé was such a sample, and I enjoyed testing this forgotten tea delight... I must confess... it’s actually a shame that production has been discontinued.
This is truly an interesting tea scent. And coming from someone who usually doesn’t get along with tea fragrances... :)
About the scent:
Vanithé starts with a piercing rosemary-herb opening. It burns in the nose at first :)
But shortly after, a spicy tea scent develops on my skin. Whether it's an Earl Grey, I can't quite tell. That would probably be asking too much.
The scent development is slightly floral, woody, and spicy. I haven't experienced a great scent flash by then... the herbal tea is still a bit bland... just like unsweetened tea sometimes only tastes limited ;)
But then... as it slowly moves towards the base, Vanithé becomes really beautiful.
Balsamic notes and tonka blend with the spicy tea. A fine honey note, together with the vanilla, provides the necessary sweetness... while Vanithé never becomes too sweet or cloying. It leaves a fresh-sweet impression instead.
The scent is finely tuned, and one can speak of a harmonious fragrance result.
For me, Vanithé is a spicy-balsamic tea scent seasoned with fine vanilla-honey notes. It smells so delicious... that you’d want to taste a cup of this tea :)
The longevity is about 6 - 7 hours... the sillage is rather moderate.
For me, it’s a year-round fragrance... which is only loud in the rosemary-herb opening and doesn’t smell nice at first ;) ... but it becomes beautiful... and it doesn’t take long. However, it is then rather close to the skin.
The bottle is simply plain. And has that typical Nez à Nez shape.
Conclusion:
Spicy-balsamic tea scent rounded off with honey and vanilla. Like! I wouldn’t have thought that with the dreadful rosemary-herb opening :)
Vanithé... a forgotten tea delight that deserves to be tested ;)

Fresh Vanilla
Anyone expecting a dark black tea scent from Vanithé will be disappointed. But that will probably be the most common association when thinking of vanilla and tea. And since I was not a fan of "Tea for Two," my expectations for Vanithé were not very high. However, it becomes immediately clear after the first application that this creation is a fresh, light vanilla scent. I have never had Earl Grey with vanilla aroma, but I can certainly imagine that it smells just like Vanithé. Or, well, maybe more like vanilla extract mixed with a bit of Earl Grey, because vanilla is definitely dominant here -- fresh, sweet vanilla.
I couldn't detect much development in the scent, which is quite nice, as the fresh vanilla fragrance lasts for quite a while. In low doses, I also find the scent quite wearable for more serious occasions, where most vanilla fragrances might not be as suitable. The slightly bitter lemon note, which Vanithé owes to bergamot and verbena, makes the vanilla feel lighter. Definitely worth testing :-)

Spicy-herbaceous black tea (for me more Assam) with delicate sweet vanilla honey notes. A rather warm, lovely tea scent for autumn.

Aromatic Earl Grey and balsamic hints, but a dreadful herbal pungent note is constantly disturbing and doesn't fade even after hours.

Lightly sweetened Earl Grey tea, very pleasant! Woody notes are more in the background, but still give it a rather autumnal character.

Spicy-balsamic tea scent rounded off with honey and vanilla. Like! I wouldn't have thought that with the awful rosemary-herb opening.
