The Deodorant Can from the Supermarket

A few years ago, I was shopping at a supermarket. While shopping, I was looking for a deodorant. In the process, I discovered this perfume. A quick spray and I was quite surprised that such an interesting scent came from an Axe can. Since I was already looking for a work scent, I decided to take this one with me. At work, it was received quite well. The longevity is of course not worth mentioning, but what can you expect at such a price. It is very fresh, but also quite synthetic. The cypress comes through nicely and is followed by a fruity, fig-like scent. The performance at the beginning is okay. But it drops rapidly. Well, what can you really say about the bottle? It's just a can that serves its purpose. It certainly won't win any beauty awards.

Freshly Showered and Slightly Sweaty at the Vegetable Stand

I discovered this scent in the large D and find it somehow interesting, even though it strongly reminds me of paprika and tomato with a slight animalistic urine note. It's nothing special, but somehow still extraordinary. The longevity is a maximum of 45 minutes to an hour. You can clearly smell the paprika and the tomato leaf, fig is minimal, pear is nonexistent, where has the vetiver gone...? The sillage is okay, you can smell a bit of cypress, cedar then gives the musk this animalistic urine note...?, I don't smell any amber, and how the hell does palm wood come through...? I find that although the scent has something to it, it is the worst of the three Axe Daily Fragrances.

Performance Limbo, Level Two

I do sometimes feel a certain pleasure in downfall. Because even though I found the first of Axes' three new 'Daily Fragrances' (for whatever that means) Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla just as contourless and soulless as the term 'Perfume' is inappropriate, I still had to try a second one. A fatal mistake to do this on skin, but 'just paper' is not a real test.

The musk that gives this fragrance its name is sometimes alleged by malicious tongues to develop a note under unfavorable circumstances (skin chemistry?) that some perceive as urinous. I can understand that, but I like musk because it is capable of offering warmth and an animal intimacy like hardly any other fragrance accord can. 'Iced' though - as the name here grandly announces (what a paradox!) - can at most remind one of the yellow speckled spots in the snow that you find in winter at the edges of sidewalks - while I can’t identify anything in this product that even remotely resembles musk - the real and beautiful kind. And ginger (so: sweet-spicy warmth) by the way, not at all. I won't even start on tomato leaf and palm wood.

Conclusion: an artificially fresh-spicy deodorant without any noteworthy attributes, let alone memorable ones. After ten minutes, it is (or rather, it) is almost gone. What remains is a certain coolness and an indistinct sour tone - too weak to actually be bothersome - and the renewed realization that not everywhere where 'Perfume' is written on the packaging is there actually perfume inside. If one wants to consider it as such: underground.
