It's Lynx / Axe
I used to use Lynx / Axe when I was in school, so when I saw they had brought out this collection I thought I should at least try it. The fragrance, as you would expect, contains a lot of oud but it also smells quite sweet thanks to the vanilla which is equally as noticable. There are some other notes in there that I'm not quite able to point out by myself, but looking at the notes listed here I'd have to say mandarin and nutmeg, but not as much as the oud or vanilla.

All in all, this is a decent fragrance and lasts about 6-7 hours. In my opinion it's suited more for the colder months as a daily fragrance, I don't think it's going to be a first choice for many people, I myself just keep this in my car in case I need a blast of something, but I wouldn't start my day wanting to wear this as it is very much Lynx / Axe quality, I mean even the container looks like a deodorant can...

Oud? I don't think so...
Well, first thing to keep in mind: there is no oud! Still, it is an extremely pleasant perfume at a more than reasonable price. I bought it for about 5 € and I have used it at leisure (I do not consider it ideal for the office, nor for very hot days).

Longevity is not very good, but the projection lasts about two hours. The perfume itself is great with vanilla, tobacco, patchouli and some spices (sage?). The bottle is made of metal and the sprayer is very similar to an aerosol (it looks like a deodorant). It could be a good excuse to use as a body spray and not as a perfume. I see no resemblance to TF Oud Wood (no oud), for me it is somewhere between Mustache and Go Dark.

Overall, a great bargain that is well worth the purchase given that there is no risk of spending a lot of money (just don't expect oud).

No oud, but an extremely pleasant scent at a more than reasonable price...
I blind bought this for about 6 € and have been using it as a body spray through most of the winter, where it mixes perfectly with most sweet tobacco scents and is excellent for layering..

I have the Body Perfume version (sic) - not deodorant but with a pump action spray instead of aerosol, and am actually pretty impressed - longevity is not very good with about three to four hours of projection, but the scent itself is great with vanilla, tobacco, patchouli and some spices, could be clary sage.

Olfactorally OWAV for me lies somewhere between Fendi pour Homme and Tom Ford Noir Extreme.

Overall a great bargain that punches well above it's weight.

You come from nothing, you're going back to nothing - what have you lost? Nothing!
This is how it is said at the end of 'Always look on the bright side of life', that legendary song by Monty Python, with which the British comedians conclude their most famous film 'Life of Brian' singing and whistling.

That Unilever's brand Axe - specialized in personal care products (and advertising messages) of limited subtlety - suddenly wants to present itself and be understood as a manufacturer of perfumes requires a certain degree of open-mindedness (and humor). And even though I do not belong to their target audience - the currently ubiquitous large-format poster campaign, including the chosen models and their message, makes that clear - curiosity was enough for a personal trial. And hey - 'Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla' - how wrong can it go?

Quite wrong. Guys, come on - this is not a perfume, not by any stretch of the imagination, this is a deodorant. The whole architecture of this product is that of a deodorant, starting with the metallic spray bottle to the barely hinted development of fragrance notes or their arrangement, down to the nonexistent longevity and sillage - both attributes I almost never complain about. I would gladly write that Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla (the name similarity with Tom Ford is not without a certain chutzpah that one must almost acknowledge) uses only the cheapest derivative of each of its ingredients, but it’s not even that. Nothing about Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla was in the same room for even a moment with Oud, with Wood, or with Vanilla, let alone with 'Clary Sage Absolute'. There is an annoyingly industrial sweet warmth, and then it’s over. Which can hardly be lamented.

It costs virtually nothing, that’s true. But if I sell a product as a perfume, I must sell a perfume. I have never understood a low price as a justification for poor performance. Axe's Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla shows how absurd that is.

Conclusion, referring to Monty Python's quote: expected nothing. Delivered nothing. Lost nothing.

Surprise
I know I will be stoned by perfume enthusiasts for this, but I’ll say it anyway: In the first half hour, it’s really really good! How good? Opening: Pure Havane. Minute 3 to 20: Similarity (yes, similar but always with the price in mind!) or a combination of Uomo Intense and Tobacco Vanille. After that, it goes steeply downhill until at the one-hour mark it turns into a vanilla toilet scent. Longevity on the skin is just okay, sillage has of course nothing to do with that of a perfume, and anyone who expected something different for the price probably has a hard time in other areas of life as well. For perfume lovers like me, who like to spritz at home just to smell good, AXE OW&DV is definitely recommendable. The good stuff is preserved, especially advantageous for discontinued bottles like Pure Havane, and still, you have something similar to your favorite on your nose. If you don’t forget that you’re holding 100ml for 5 euros, then it can actually be something. Comparing it to its role models or to the classics I associate with it, of course, it falls short - how could it be otherwise?

It’s a super simple soft woody and vanilla scent. Its simplicity makes it great for layering (I mix it with Franck Olivier oudTouch).

The smell = really good (got me even compliments believe it or not). The performance = moderate/weak. All with all a save buy for 5 euro.

A good smelling, cheap and simple option from Lynx / Axe.
I keep a bottle in my car in case I have no other option, but it's never a go to.

It's not exactly celebrated here. But it's really beautiful. A little oriental prince, smelling of vanilla, wood & nutmeg.

THE positive surprise of 2016. Fascinating hint of tobacco/vanilla. Longevity compared to the price - totally fine.

Actually vanilla, but so creepily synthetic that you want to run around screaming. Even the cheapest vanilla shower gel is better.

It smells a bit synthetic, but still, OW&DV is a wonderful fragrance. Especially the combination in the base. A great deal!

Sweet artificial vanilla with a hint of oud, very little Axe. Could be worse.

The best of the three new ones. Synthetic oud vanilla mix. Just average attributes. Worth a try, in the direction of 24 Dark.
