I really gave it my all...

It so happened that a dear perfumer sent me a sample letter, from which half of the fragrances were immediately inhaled. Oh, dear. All great. Oh, great. That's not the way it was meant to be. I actually have enough fragrances and I just wanted to quickly... Because actually I don't want any new fragrances, I rather want to reduce the collection a bit. Well, you know that. The whole eigentlichs halt.

The first letter of complaint to the dear Parfuma was sent. Only great things to send but is also downright impertinent. The fragrance letter remained lying for the time being and was critically eyed.

There must be but also what you do not like, I thought to me.

You still dare to one. The Tobacco & Tonka Bean it should be. Very well.

Pffft pffft, then wait a minute. Nose to the wrist. Mmmhhh, fruity delicious! With a hint of coconut. I like. Sniff again: yes, yummy - but.... Ha! What's that? There's (finally!) a but!

My inner wallet crawls out of its cuddly corner and carefully warms up with a few stretches.

Nah, hold on a second, I better take another sniff. Oh yeah, tobacco. Lots of tobacco. Uh nope, that's too strong for me!!! The tobacco pushes its way forward and is in the front row, while the little fruits have shyly all but disappeared.

The inner purse wiggles its bum and then starts a light jog in sheer rapture (which is totally against the nature of the nose-owner, just sayin'!).

Waited some more and sniffed again: TOBACCO! Still! What are you doing!!! Indignation spreads. I don't like this, it's too much. And anyway? Who packs tobacco to delicate fruit?!

Meanwhile, of course, the inner wallet is already doing the flick flack on the big mat. In the gym. With music. Loud music. In front of an audience. Completely uninhibited.
A little out of breath, it later enjoys the thunderous applause. The rows then slowly thin out again. It takes another deep breath, goes towards the door, turns off the light, puts on the little cap on the way out - and suddenly has a wonderful scent in its nose. Immediately this one is on the wrist: what is that? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!!! What smells so devilishly good??? Spicy-wonderful tonka vanilla with a gaaanz leicht (and thus already almost appealing) tobacco veil.

Silence.

So slowly it dawns on the inner wallet. Loud stunned silence. Shock stupor, finally fainting spell.

After I recently dealt with the extremely black fragrance of the designer house Mandarina Duck, this factual commentary shall now deal with "Tobacco & Tonka Bean" by the brand Banana Republic - a fashion company that originated in Mill Valley (California, USA) and now sells apparel items worldwide.

Tobacco & Tonka Bean" is a - yes, let's call it: Cheapie, which is offered for under 30 euros. One receives thereby always a 75 ml - flacon.

But who now comes to the hasty conclusion, this Eau de Parfum would come to the price correspondingly cheap and unpretentious, errs enormously - namely, what concerns the presentation, as well as the fragrance itself. Rather, even the packaging can easily measure up to upscale - in my opinion, even niche - standards. The bottle rests in a sturdy drawer made of hardboard, which can be pulled out of a perfectly fitted cardboard box by a flap. Incidentally, it itself makes a really high-quality impression with its margenta-colored transparent glass and solid metal cap that closes with a distinct click. I have experienced that with fragrances of this price segment already significantly worse.

As for the fragrance itself, I reflect already at this point on me
ine headline: What You See Is What You Get. Period.

In the base we get it namely to do with these notes: tobacco and tonka bean. But since a fragrance basically not only consists of the base and also ideally has to show one or the other small special feature, I would not like to take the shortcut at this point and outline the course of the fragrance something more decided.

The opening is decisively characterized by vanilla and coconut - but do not worry, it does not turn out as sweet as this part of the pyramid suggests. For this, we can be grateful to the fruity, almost tart mirabelle. It stands up to the sweet notes of the fragrance as boldly as it does successfully, always providing a very pleasant balance. Why the pear is highlighted in the fragrance pyramid seen here, I frankly do not understand - I can not perceive it with the best will in the world, but this statement is of course based on (m)a subjective impression.

Then later, the coconut retreats, leaving tonka bean and tobacco leaf to the mic. The Mirabelle, however, seems to know what the also remaining vanilla and also the tonka bean are capable of in terms of sweetness and remains for safety's sake on the stage. And that's a good thing, because it continues to have the power to always provide an effective balance. In addition, it goes from now on creamier and more flattering to work.

"Tobacco & Tonka Bean" is a medium-projecting fragrance that becomes skin-deep after about seven hours. It is suitable for year-round use day or night, whether at the office or on a date. However, it is most preferred to be worn during the transitional months, and by all genders equally. He comes despite the low price but never synthetic for my sensation.

Asked about a possibly existing comparability, I would definitely think of "Vanilla & Leather" by S. T. Dupont (here again a big thank you to Basti for his comment as a recommendation), which has a great similarity especially in the drydown. Regarding the sustained colportierten similarity to Initio's "Side Effect" I can unfortunately not elaborate, because my wallet has so far prevented me from getting to know this fragrance.

Personally, I like "Tobacco & Tonka Bean" and think that lovers of the mainly present fragrance notes should not be afraid to give it a chance and sniff once.

The name is deceiving... so half

On the last shopping trip (currently of course online) this sweetie has landed as a blind purchase in my shopping cart. What can I say, I'm also so someone who buys at the checkout still the cleverly placed overpriced mini packs Süßkrams.
Overpriced Tobacco & Tonka Bean is at currently 21 € for 75ml but certainly not, but sweet he is already.
The bottle is very high quality for the price. The lid closes with a firm click, so the bottle can also be lifted by the lid. The bottle sits firmly in a velvety bed in the packaging, the bottle is pulled from the side of the overpack. That can already really what.
The color purple of the bottle also fits the fragrance somewhere: warm and inviting. I smell only very minimal tobacco, but really only rudimentary. The title fits only so half. For me, this scent is tonka bean throughout with a sweet underpinning, probably coconut at first, then vanilla after about 15 minutes. After that, the scent changes only marginally.
The durability and sillage are solid, but that also depends on when you want to wear the fragrance. After seven to eight hours, he is still discreetly skin perceptible, in the first hour he also radiates quite well. For parties too weak, even a whole nine hours workday he keeps possibly not perceptible through, but at the price you can also like to re-spray.
Overall, T&B is a fragrance without corners and edges, like a fluffy fluffy blanket. In autumn and winter, perhaps also in fresh summer nights I can imagine him well. Intended rather as a date fragrance, which fits by its cuddly pleasing aura certainly. I find it subtle, clean, neat smelling, with three sprays I would wear this at work. The best blind buy!

After numerous reviews on YouTube and your reviews, I decided to order BR T&T, Since just 25 euros were really a snapper.
Honestly, I test myself only recently through the perfume world and was unsure to order the fragrance blindly. But you only live once :)
At first smell I did not really like it, But that was probably more because my nose for such a fragrance composition was not yet made. It was rather irritating. The pear in the head is very ripe and tangy, quite delicious. Followed by the coconut and tobacco Which give it a complete twist. In the drydown an aromatic not sweet tonka and vanilla. Definitely irresistible and definitely unisex. Also signature potential in autumn and winter, creamy leather jacket scent and times something, What does not smell Douglas ;)

H+S rather weak, Which is a pity. I wish BR brings out an Intense version.
For 25 euros, however, you can not really complain. A complex fragrance with noble Packaging.
I will buy a back-up bottle. Or two, or three....

Blind buy the Xth.
