Alien green iris bomb of my dreams
Found this at a perfume shop in Armenia, have never come across it in the US. It is one of the most unique iris fragrances I’ve met. In the beginning it’s all cool iris: dry and floral, barely powdery alongside a stemmy green note that is more rich and juicy than grassy. I also get a lot of violet leaf though it’s not listed. The oud politely hangs out underneath it all and lends its oomph yet doesn’t make itself overtly known.
After 15 minutes and a deep inhale a slightly sweet resin note emerges alongside incense and a spike of oud of the ointment variety. Iris still floating above it. Coffee is here somewhere, but more affogato than thick middle eastern coffee. Tobacco barely registers but, like the oud, it’s thoroughly blended in and I sense the texture and tone it gives the whole mixture rather than its individual presence.
It’s radiant and all its tightly woven notes unfurl on a warm day.
