Velvet Water
Velvet that falls on the skin like snowflakes and warms your soul ... that is Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours!

Actually, this is not my usual type.
Rose is tricky, especially in combination with patchouli. I didn't like unsweet scents at all until recently, but this fragrance has stuck with me after the test.
So I told myself, Sweetsmell ... out of the usual type and into the fragrance cabinet with the bottle!
I haven't regretted it ;)

About the scent:
Eau de Velours starts off peppery with citrus notes.
But before you can even say bergamot, the rose comes in. This rose is even beautiful to me. It is interspersed with plum sprinkles and underscored with jasmine. It becomes slightly spicy as it develops. However, my nose struggles to identify which spices are present.
The base features soft leather and a lot of patchouli.
Musk also joins in. Although it's not listed, I can smell it. It gives the fragrance a cozy-warm atmosphere.
Eau de Velours wears like velvet on the skin and is absolutely unsweet!
A fragrance for autumn/winter and the cooler spring days.
The longevity is a good 8 hours plus, and the sillage is not overwhelming but well noticeable for the first few hours; after that, I am subtly enveloped in a rosy patchouli-musk cloud.
I find Eau de Velours to be very effective - stylish - feminine!
The bottle is very pretty and high-quality with its leather ribbon. The bottle color matches the fragrance.

Conclusion:
Noble leather, patch & a red rose - velvety soft with plum sprinkles.
Subtle - unsweet - effective!
Velvet Water fits ... nicely so :)

Girls ... you really have to test this one ... it's so beautiful! :)

Family Resemblances
Welcome to Casa Bottega Veneta! It's a pleasure to have you here as a guest today.

Allow me to introduce: the lady of the house "Bottega Veneta EDP", very feminine, gentle, yet assertive. At the core of her heart, she still holds on to the old values.

The stern gentleman beside her is, by the way, her husband, "Bottega Veneta Pour Homme". A truly striking character, elegant and strong-willed.

The slender lady to her left is her sister, the "EDT". Yes, the family resemblance is immediately apparent, even though the sister is a bit lighter and cooler.

Across from them sits the French cousin "Essence Aromatique". Admittedly, there is no obvious similarity, but the same stunningly charming style.

I personally prefer to avoid the English cousin "Knot" over there. She only talks about her flower and fruit garden. Exhausting, I tell you. And the daughter, the "Eau Floral" next to her, is similarly inclined, just much more boring.

Here in front is my little sister, the "Eau Sensuelle". She is still a bit reserved, but very nice in closer company. And you can immediately see the resemblance to the lady of the house. Yes, after all, she is the mother.

By the way, I am "Eau de Velours", Mama's eldest - even though I arrived last at the celebration today. Don't you think I look just like her? I'm proud of that. But as much as I love my family: I am very independent and definitely have my own mind.

...

I must admit, I find it difficult to view "Eau de Velours" independently from the other fragrances in the line. I believe no other perfume series has managed to captivate me as much as this one. "Eau de Velours" is no exception.

The fine leather note that runs through the series (with the exception of the outside cousins) also intrigues me here. The subtle sweetness is just my thing. This fragrance is very similar in warmth and radiance to the "EDP", but has a slightly different character. While the "EDP" offers an elegant, very mature note with oak moss in the base in fine dosage, "Eau de Velours" is more feminine and sensual due to the rose scent. However, the rose remains part of the ensemble and does not become an overpowering soloist.

For me, each family member has its reason for existence, but if I had to choose, I would remain loyal to the Grand Dame. So I am pleased to have already received the second sample bottle this year.

Should I take this one? Or that one? Or maybe the third one?
Recently, I was once again at one of my doctors on the upper Kurfürstendamm.
There, in the area of Olivaer Platz, boutiques - or are they called "flagstores" now? - have settled over the years, where the mere mention of their names should ideally elicit a delighted "Oh!" or "Ah!".
With a bit of luck, you might still find showcases right in the middle of the wide sidewalks.

As always, I was early, so I took a look at the shop windows and these showcases.
"Hermès", known for its beautiful scarves, still had those foulards displayed, whose colors are so loud that just looking at them makes my ears ring!
In three showcases, there are only six large silk scarves stretched out: their theme apparently lies in the realm of "Back to the Roots" or "Back to Nature".
The patterns on the heavy silk are partly in an orange that currently makes the suits of the Dutch Olympic team shine. The blue is shockingly shrill; the green as well.
Sapphire and emerald, on the other hand, appear almost colorless.
Who would want to buy that?
In any case, this sight reminds me of a colleague who wore new clothes for the first time so skillfully that the label with the price tag was visible. She had a talent for that!
When she was pointed out to this fact, she acted surprised and slightly embarrassed ("Oh, how embarrassing!"); but never forgot to say: "Not from 'C&A', my dear - only the finest!".
Well, these foulards don't offer the possibility of a forgotten price tag; but maybe there's a special way of tying that reveals the logo or lettering of these luxury brands.

Each of the three adjacent showcases is more minimalist: each glass display holds only one handbag: one more beautiful than the other!
These showcases belong to "Bottega Veneta".
Handbags in a leather that seems so finely polished, as if it were pure silk velvet, with that very specific shimmer!
The question remains: is it matte smooth leather or very fine suede?
In one of these "non-colors" for handbags: a very light milk coffee brown with a hint of gray - "Greige" is what it's called, to my knowledge.
A "non-color" that harmonizes so ideally with the eagerly awaited spring and the matching clothing.
The first yellow crocuses on the wide median strip nod approvingly.

Here I stand now - a single woman between three handbags and ask myself the question of all questions:
Which bag would/should/could it be?
If I hadn't had the doctor's appointment, I would probably still be standing there: I couldn't decide!

However, the decision for "Bottega Veneta - Eau de Velours" comes easily!
There is no doubt: we both like each other at first sight!
For this fine scent mist is spun from such noble leather nuances that even I immediately sink into a state of slight ecstasy: it is well known that leather scents are not exactly among my favorites.
This "Eau de Velours" is, however, the famous exception to the rule.
The sometimes slightly musty bergamot is here dusted with a bit of pink pepper; so fine that even my nose couldn't be bothered by it.
Spiced ripe plum, a deep dark violet accord, next enters this scent stage. Spicy clove is likely in its company, possibly even a little pinch of cinnamon.
Whatever it is - it creates a certain enticing tickle of the olfactory nerves on the fine leather with the fruity, slightly peppery note!
The fully bloomed large-flowered jasmine and an extremely skillfully placed dose of rose absolute (perhaps from Rosa Alba?) refine the previous scent composition to perfection.
Even now, it is such a temptation for me that I would prefer not to take my nose away from my wrist and elbow. For a mysterious being has settled there.
The moment this fragrant something marries with patchouli, "Bottega Veneta - Eau de Velours" is perfectly rounded off.
And I gladly forget the shock that Tom Ford's "White Patchouli" recently gave me.

Rounded off? Rather, the delicate scent progression takes the shape of an eight - a certain infinity.

The longevity is, of course, not infinite; it is, after all, an eau de toilette, despite the noble name.
It departs lightly and quietly after a few hours, leaving a fine hint that responds absolutely friendly to re-spraying: it rises again without complaining or being fussy - a well-behaved being!

"Bottega Veneta - Eau de Velours" is an ideal scent for occasions when one prefers not to stand out, but still leaves their "scent mark" in the most impressive way: "... what here!"
Thus, it presents itself as a practical yet elegant business scent. It has a certain elegance; yet it is so considerate that even I feel comfortable with this fragrant companion at the moment; disheveled and run over as I currently look and actually feel.
For that reason alone, I like this "Eau de Velours": it tenderly caresses with fairy fingers without being intrusive; flatters its wearer and reminds one of a soft piece of music that is present but not disturbing.
You can tell: I want to slip into this scent like into a soft, delicately perfumed glove!
Maybe not forever - but for a certain time!

The Night Watch
Last night, my girlfriend threw me out of bed because she has worries.

Yes, at night, dark thoughts plague you the most.

So I prepare myself for Rembrandt's Night Watch - because friendship is not just about laughing together - but also about watching over each other.

But I have no gun ready - instead, I have muffins, cigarettes, and Eau de Velours.
Although I am crouching on a hard kitchen bench, the scent transports me to a soft suede armchair - comfortable and therapeutic.
Well - where does it pinch?

The pink and white rose bouquet smells even more intense at night and lets thoughts flow.
I recall many pieces of advice.
The soft patchouli provides depth - and the plum is comforting, plum-soft.
I can listen attentively and empathize.

Velours creates closeness - and the ability to engage.

We both found some sleep after all.

Bordeaux Red Velvet Dream
I am totally into leather fragrances and have several in my collection. One of my favorites is the original Bottega Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum.
I had heard about Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours, which is said to be even softer and more supple. So I tried to get a sample of it, which I ultimately succeeded in doing.
What can I say, it is a Bordeaux Red Velvet Dream. An incredibly beautiful suede leather scent.
Such a wonderfully creamy, finely suede-like skin and soul caresser.
It starts immediately with a dreamy leather note and a light pepper note that is absolutely unobtrusive but quite noticeable, with a delicate hint of something citrusy that hardly makes an impact.
Right with the top note, the heart note comes in with a dry, unsweetened plum-spice drink and a lush bouquet of dreamy dark red roses and small, delicate jasmine flowers. The flowers are not overpowering, the rose is not overwhelming but accompanies this wonderful composition.

Almost immediately after, I am in the seventh "leather" heaven. I have never smelled such a soft, delicate suede in a fragrance before. It is a dream, silky, soft, creamy, powdery, slightly roughened but not harsh, rather like a well-worn, cared-for suede skirt.
It clings so velvety, eventually becoming skin-close and caressing my soul.

The combination of unsweetened fruit, jasmine, and rose with leather and patchouli is absolutely brilliantly executed and completely harmonious.
Surely this fragrance won't appeal to every woman; it is not sweet, it is not pleasing, it has edges and corners and is precise.
For me, this is a great office scent. It radiates strength, self-confidence, and assertiveness without ever being intrusive or commanding.
I like it almost even better than the original Bottega. The big problem - it has been discontinued...
It's not like I didn't know that beforehand, but I didn't realize I would like it so much.
Good thing I was able to snag a bottle. ❤️
I generally like the Bottega bottles quite a bit, and this one is a little dream. Not just the bottle, but also the velvet liquid.

Autumn walk. Late blossoms. Plums fall into the rustling leaves. Leather hugs warm skin softly. Velvet red glows as the day fades.

Cool erotic rose with a hint of leather. Compliment magnet. Insanely beautiful. Suitable for every season. Is it really being discontinued????

The initially very prominent rose quickly fades. Unmistakably Bottega Veneta, perhaps a bit darker than the usual EDP.

Two weeks ago I tried it out. Rose & Patch softly embedded. The pepper gives a piquant freshness at first. One of the most beautiful Bottegas.

Truly a velvet scent. A warm, soft, and noble composition of leather, rose, and plum. Not very sweet and definitely unisex.

Very peppery rose, whose charms slowly unfold: after a while, a plum note reveals itself on a warm, woody base.

I find it the most beautiful of the leather scents. Warm, clean, rose not too sweet, more patch, unsweet plum. Purple fits quite well. Very elegant bottle.
