Convincing Woody-Floral Freshie
Recently, the first fragrance from the brand Bottega Veneta has joined my collection. I definitely wanted to have one of these great brands. A designer brand that has caught my attention with serious and everyday-appropriate scents. All have a certain elegance without major childish moments. Nevertheless, they have charm. Specifically, the Pour Homme line has many classic elements. The Illusione line combines clean elegance with pleasing and modern accents. Ultimately, I chose this Bois Nu, which is already flying under the radar. You can get 50ml for around 40 euros, which is fair for this high-quality scent.
The bottle comes in a great box, and the bottle itself is already elegant like the fashion of this brand. Simple, great thick base, beautiful cap. It looks fantastic in any collection.
Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu is already well-known, especially in the designer fragrance world. I like his creations, and he really hits the taste of the masses.
In the statements, some similarities to Reflection Man are mentioned. I don't find that to be the case, but if you like this style, you can definitely give it a try. Stylistically, the two are not that far apart: fresh, pleasant wood, floral-polished appearance, and already elegance and sex appeal. Of course, this does not come close to that luxurious Amouage DNA, but for those who don't want to spend that much money, this is a great alternative.
The opening completely reminds me of Prada L'Homme. In the top note, one could perceive it as a flanker or scent twin. This clean freshness with this polished elegance comes across very well. After the top note, it develops in its own direction. A unique floral heart note with gentle wood emerges. A pleasing sweetness is also present, which is not too extreme. A slight synthetic note (probably due to the Akigalawood) is noticeable, but it does not come off as cheap. The dry down is already quite seductive with great woody sweetness.
Overall, a fantastic scent that you can't go wrong with, without being too ordinary. It is pleasing, yet has a lot of individuality. Perfect for in-between, everyday wear, and also suitable for dates. With a never too strong sillage, you can wear this scent for many occasions throughout the year.
Sillage is in the medium range, and longevity is also rather average. It should last around 6 hours, perhaps even longer when experienced up close.
Overall, a great release that most will enjoy. Very gentleman-like and absolutely not for bad boys. A wonderful mix of fresh everyday DNA and seductive date scent. Definitely worth a test!
