A Decent Flormand For The Price
I've never been a believer in the claim that some perfumes smell better after sitting for awhile. I usually chalk this up to hormones temporarily changing someone's impression of a fragrance so they think it's the fragrance changing but it's actually their nervous system interpreting it differently. And maybe that's what happened with this bottle! But maybe it isn't?
I bought this and I liked it but I wasn't really wowed. It smelled vaguely sweet and patchouli heavy. I ignored it for a few months and put it on a few days ago. Wow! The vanilla/tonka is much more noticeable and I finally get the fruity top notes and the cupcake-y heart notes. It smells more adult than I expected it to, too.
I think this is a nice ambery flormand. It's not incredibly memorable but if you're looking for something in that genre it's great value. It even has decent longevity. I feel like price point sometimes causes people to gas up more expensive fragrances and downplay cheap ones. I think if you put this in a Kayali bottle and charged $100 for it then people would be like "yes Kayali pop off!" and if I put Kayali Vanilla 28 in a Britney Spears bottle people would sleep on it a bit more. IMO there is very little difference in quality in the $25-$100 fragrance bracket.
