A Worthwhile Cheapie: Though More Caramel than Coffee
Tested: On skin and clothing, four hours

TLDR: Frappe that's 80% caramel syrup with a fruity coffee blend

I like this a lot! I chose it because of my love for coffee notes, rather than for the caramel.

Unfortunately, you have to use your imagination a little bit, and the coffee is fleeting anyway. More than anything, it's a sweet and sour caramel scent. No bitterness and earthiness you'd expect for coffee, nor lactonic milkiness for cream. Someone gave you a fruity, summer release of a Starbucks ground bean blend, and you mixed in a loooooot of caramel syrup. Brighter than I expected!

I compared it to Prada Candy because they both have strong caramel notes.

Candy is, imo, more one note than Private show. It's a powdery, dusted vanilla-caramel. It's both more mature, and younger, than Private Show because of the powder. PS is wetter caramel: sticky and syrupy sweet. I would wear the former for a more professional environment, and the latter for going out!

Both have a longevity of about four hours. I actually reapplied PS at that mark because I could barely smell it on my wrists anymore. PS has slightly better projection though! As in, I can smell it when I wave my hands around in front of my face. Candy's bubble is a *lot* smaller.

Not bad at all for a cheapie! I think this would layer well with vanilla scents, but I'm still on the hunt for my dream coffee fragrance.

Cheapy with taste
After my statement I must now also write a comment, the this "celebrity fragrance" has earned.

Behind the fragrance is Carolina Sabas, which is also behind J Lo's Miami Glow, also a fragrance I find heavenly, but unfortunately no longer exists. Therefore, I had to test the PS and was not disappointed.

He is one of the few celebrity fragrances of the so delicate, fine, balanced therefore comes that one could think it is a higher-priced fragrance.
It is a sweet gourmand through and through, yet not overly squeaky and penetrating.

At the start, I directly perceive a fruity-sweet note with coffee undertones. The sweet, milky caramel tone that permeates the fragrance is there from the start and becomes more and more present. The scent stays sweet and creamy on my skin, enveloping me in a soft and delicious way.

It has a good sillage at the beginning which becomes more and more body-appealing as it goes on. He holds with me already 6-7 h, which I consider in view of the low price as good.

I think he was designed more for younger fragrance lovers, but since I feel him as not "poppy", you can wear him well if you are no longer quite "young", but feel quite young.

A clear recommendation, I am at least glad that he has found his way to me

A caramel dream:))))))
As many here know I simply love gourmand scents :))) I had got this perfume from my mother, well 2.years ago ago given and found then simply only good! I just have to admit that I'm not a Britney spears fan but still a little fan of their fragrances;) She actually makes quite good scents as I think, until now I had only fantasy not liked because I find too penetrating because of the kiwi note.... But Private Show is very different from their other scents. It also doesn't smell artificial and strong on the contrary it's soooo soft and creamy*-* Even if there's no caramel in the fragrance pyramid I smell through and through such a beautiful, tender, creamy and sweet caramel note.... I can't smell a coffee note with this scent. I think you can't do anything wrong with this fragrance as a gourmand lover because it's not expensive now either. Who likes caramel scents should have a look here;)) H+S is like me not bad! On the small one smells then, almost half day on the skin holds with me around the 4.hours. I bought it again a week ago and still find it beautiful:))))

A Floral Coffee Treat--I like it a latte!
I originally came across this perfume because I was searching online for a fragrance with a strong, juicy nectarine note, and this scent popped up as a result. I poo-pooed it, until I saw a tester at Kohl's. I spritzed it, and it wasn't half bad; actually, I liked it a lot!

In the past, I have avoided all of Britney Spears's scents like I avoid a "Womanizer." I was convinced that they couldn't possibly be good, what with a new one coming out seemingly every six months. Private Show (I hate typing that horrible name!) is actually good. It's actually quite complex and--dare I say it?--mature. Gasp! Don't get me wrong, it's still something a 20-something would wear, but "Lucky" for me, it's also quite proper for a 30-, 40-, and 50-something woman. I would think most teenagers would be turned off by this one, even though the "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" crowd is likely the marketing target.

There isn't a LOT of nectarine, but the nectarine does combine nicely with the clementine at the top in a nice, juicy first burst. Coffee underscores this note, which sounds kind of gross (citrus coffee?!), but it really is nice. The fruits disappear within about five minutes and are replaced with the dulce de leche and jasmine. Actually, I don't get much orange blossom; I would rather describe what I smell as "white flowers." But the coffee remains strongly present. When it combines with the dulce de leche, the result is a creamy, slightly sweet latte coffee drink! With some white flowery notes floating softly around the edges.

It is a very pretty perfume. So pretty, in fact, that the name is intolerable. Anything would be better than "Private Show." Seriously, what a tacky, smutty, awful name! Maybe I can rub off the name from the bottle with nail polish remover and write "Caramel Unicorns" or some such over it. Or what about "Fluffy Kitties"? Or "Awesomesauce"?!

Anyway, the drydown still contains a bit of coffee to flow in with the musk. On me, it's a stronger musk than amber, and it even loses some sweetness to become slightly like a dry woodsiness. This perfume is sweet, but not overly so, in my opinion, and it gets less sweet over time. But you'd better really like the scent of coffee to wear this one, or else you will be unhappy for quite a few hours--it will seem "Toxic" to you! Longevity is about 3-4 hours; reapplication is a must--Oops, I had to do it again.

Sillage is within arms length, and I spray the back of my neck/hair, front of my neck/chest, and once on each forearm. It wafts gently around and then gradually dies away. Then, "Baby, one more time" on the spritzing.

Due to the coffee note, I think most people would agree that fall and winter might be the best times of year to wear this perfume, but honestly, any time you desire a calorie-free caramel coffee kind of drink, you can just spritz this on and save your hips because they don't lie. (Oops. Wrong singer.) It's delicious, but it's also feminine and floral and...pretty. I really love it, and I'm glad I didn't allow my Britney prejudice to prevent me from buying it. The ten dollar clearance price tag may have had a VERY LARGE part in that purchase, if I'm truthful!

Ten bucks was a steal for this quality. I'm not sure how much of a hand Britney has in the creation of her scents, but this one is a winner. Don't "hold it against me."
