Oops! I like it!

My first encounter with a Britney Spears fragrance, and what a nice encounter it was! The first spray is smooth and yummy, the litchi and vanilla notes make this scent a simpler version of Ungaro Apparition & Ungaro 2007 For Women, I can detect the skilful hand of Elizabeth Arden's note composers in it.

If you would like a variation of Apparition or can't find Ungaro 2007 try this one, the mandarin & pear notes in Radiance add a nice twist that compliments the opening and the drydown very nicely.
Since it's a very affordable scent and the bottle is super cute (all the BS bottles are visually enticing) I got this one and enjoy it as a casual yummy fun scent.
Well done Britney! I am looking forward to sampling more of your fragrances.

Very similar to its predecessor Radiance

Like many others have noted, I too find many similarities between this fragrance and the original Radiance. They differ only slightly which is a bit of a let-down.

While Cosmic Radiance is a touch creamier and more citrusy, I did get the feeling that I was smelling Radiance from a different bottle. Disappointing and somewhat irritating to say the least.

Dismissing its relation to Radiance in order to write an honest review, Cosmic Radiance is in itself, quite a pleasing fragrance. It has a pleasantly clean feel, with creamy white florals, soft musk and sweet, juicy fruit accords.

It smells like something you'd expect from a variety of bath products, like something you would reach for to refresh yourself after a long, hard day. At times this fragrance can smell a little cheap, but that's not to say that it's in any way revolting. I just personally prefer her earlier fragrances.

The sweetness is not a dominating presence in Cosmic Radiance, with the focus being more so on the soapy white florals, which are lovely I must admit. Overall, the scent is smooth and feminine, and also surprisingly lasting, which is an added bonus.

While I do like this fragrance, enough to wear it every now and then, I probably won't be purchasing a full bottle. I just hope that the next fragrance she releases smells a little different from what we've previously smelt.

Story ;)

Today I would like to tell you a little story:

About a month ago, I had a job interview at a company where I had applied. Many applicants came, and I was among them.
The chairperson explained how everything works and what needs to be done - then she paused... looked around the room and said: "Excuse me - I'm usually not like this, but it really smells wonderful in here"

No one responded to that, no one knew who she was referring to - even though I somehow hoped it was me.
After finishing my tasks, I handed in my pen, and the woman looked at me and said: "YOU! You smell really great," giving me a smile...

Two days later, I received the email saying I passed the test and am now invited to a highly official interview.

The chairperson and someone else were present, asked me questions, and were very nice. Towards the end of the conversation, the woman said: "You smell great again today," turned her head to the other person and asked if he could also perceive the scent... He nodded and said it was simply wonderfully sweet and very subtle.

The woman shook my hand and said it would be lovely to smell that scent more often in the office.

Today I got the call that I can start working there from Monday.

(Of course, it wasn't [only] because of the scent, but still a nice anecdote)

I will also describe the scent itself to you:
To me - unlike what my predecessor wrote - it does not smell at all like Radiance. Not even similar. These are two different perfumes that have nothing in common except for the name, which is evident just from the fragrance notes.

It starts off slightly citrusy, but with a VERY warm sandalwood-vanilla touch, I think. I'm not sure about the sandalwood, but the vanilla and a slightly woody scent are definitely present from the very beginning.
However, it doesn't start fresh-citrusy, but heavy, "dark" citrus - yet it is not a night perfume and, in my opinion, not the nighttime version of Radiance, but simply the better one...

Later, the scent transforms into something lighter, more floral, but the citrus notes from the beginning remain, while the vanilla-wood scent becomes warmer and stronger until it takes over.

A downside to the scent might be its longevity, which lasts about 4 hours (for me), and its availability in Europe is not very good (very expensive on eBay and otherwise hard to find), and the bottle is not really beautiful either.

Nevertheless, I really like this perfume, especially now, and I will probably use it more often in the future! :)

Radiance gets a (twin) sister ?......

You know these twins, they are alike and wear the same things to confuse people. I was deceived by the (twin) sister of Radiance. At first, I thought I was smelling the scent of Radiance, but upon closer inspection, like with real twin sisters, you find a difference, and this is also the case here. Cosmic Radiance is initially a bit fruitier and zestier than the original; the whole atmosphere is not as sweet and floral as with Radiance. Cosmic Radiance focuses more on the heart note that really stands out. You smell everything at once with the first spray on the skin, no layers as it develops, you have everything in your nose at once, which I find good. In my opinion, Cosmic Radiance is more suited for the evening, but it can also be worn during the day. However, I think it's more for nice moments for two, best when lying in the park with your friend and watching the stars. A light breeze carries the scent into the noses of both genders. And you dream of a picnic in a sea of flowers, eating freshly picked fruits. That's how I would describe this scent.

So, if you like Radiance, you will also like this scent; it's definitely worth a look, take the risk, but don't expect a big difference from Radiance. Cosmic Radiance is the more direct and nighttime version of its sister Radiance.
