I have to honestly say, I love Burberry Goddess extremely! From the very first spray back then, it was clear, it suits me! Warm, soft, feminine.
In the evening, I really like to wear the Intense version.
And that's why I was so incredibly excited when I heard that a new version is coming to the market. I jumped off the sofa in the evening and cheered. My husband sat next to me completely perplexed.
But I have to say, I was very skeptical when I read the fragrance notes. Raspberry and leather? Isn't that somehow too much?
Spoiler: after the first spray, I thought to myself, yes baby - give me more!
But let's start from the beginning:
The first spray, wow. Raspberry. Juicy, fruity, and fresh. I like it. Elegant and really beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet and sticky. (Fortunately) no childish sweetness, but perfectly dosed. Harmoniously balanced. Berry-like, noble, and liqueur-like.
Then comes the Goddess EdP DNA, soft, creamy, as usual. But less sweet:
Fresh lavender, very herbal, slightly spicy. A lot of character. Simply special - I like it. Almost magical, like a walk through a lavender field in the evening. Here, lavender does not stand for inner peace, but for feminine strength. Very dominant and less soft.
The vanilla, darker than usual, richer, deeper. But still slightly creamy and not intrusive. No headache - nausea - scented candle - vanilla.
Dark and elegant like a vanilla pod soaked in cognac. Barely sweet.
And then the leather comes through!
A smooth, soft, creamy leather. Like when you stroke a suede handbag. This makes the scent very exciting and grown-up.
Wow, folks - I'm telling you. I'm not a big raspberry leather fan. But! In this case, I'm just blown away. The Goddess DNA becomes so extremely complex, noble, high-quality.
Deep and sensual. Almost unisex.
I love this contrast. Fruity, our beloved goddess DNA, and then this velvety leather.
The raspberry brings that bright smile at the beginning - but then the leather lays over it and the scent changes. If the scent could talk, it would say: I'm not just sweet - I know exactly what I want. ;-)
And now let's be honest, compared to the Goddess EdP and the Intense version.
EdP:
The classic scent is for me feminine, soft, and creamy. Vanilla meets lavender. I wear it constantly and love it.
Intense:
Here it gets warmer, deeper, and more drama baby. The vanilla is brighter but even more present, and the lavender is more herbal. Perfect for evenings or going out.
(But I know, opinions are divided here. But I also find this very beautiful and something different.)
Goddess perfume (new variant)
Compared to the other two, I would say it is very herbaceous, unisex, hardly sweet, very herbal.
Regarding longevity, I was really positively surprised, as the scent lasts for me 6-8 hours. No scent cloud, you don't pull the scent behind you for kilometers. But still present and with me. No boom - here I am! But rather a statement - I know what I want, I know who I am.
The only thing I might criticize - the raspberry is unfortunately almost gone in the drydown. I would have liked it to stay.
Conclusion:
I really love all three scents. And all three scents are so different. But that's a good thing, because who needs three similar ones?
The classic is definitely my daily companion and will remain so.
The intense version is my power move, or when I just feel like something different. But only very subtly dosed.
And the new version - my secret weapon when I want to leave a lasting impression. In summer and everyday life, it might be too much for me, but in autumn and winter, and in the evening, it will definitely be my secret weapon to turn a few heads. (Oops, I'm married, I just realized.) But girls, you know what I mean.
I'm glad that all three scents are so different; for me, each scent has its right to exist, and I'm just happy with the new variant.
